ALCORN CONSTRUCTION

The first day four guys showed up and got the majority of the roof installed. I found that they were using 1 1/4" nails and the questioned the contractor and the roofing boss about that and I was assured that it was OK. Numerous sites on the Internet say at least 1 1/2" nails should be used but when I checked the garage many did protrude through the plywood, so I let it go. The next day the rest of the roof was finished and the power vents were installed and new vents were also installed since the guys tore up the originals so badly. The holes for the power vents weren't cut big enough so I had to call them back to fix that. I also complained about the dented gutter and the landscaping lights that were broken with the air hoses. The next day I had to call them back again to place the power vents correctly (I read the manual) since the original location placed the vent cap above the ridge line. They did find the cause of the leak and fixed it. Overall, work quality was poor.

I knew of Alcorn for years. I like that they are a father and son family business. They worked very hard and did a great job. Our hardwood floors are beautiful. I have a full bathroom with a walk-in closet and my living room is huge. I have a big screen TV in there for when the grandkids come over to visit.

Overall, I was very pleased with the outcome of our home. It looks amazing and I was very pleased of the amount of work and detail that was put into everything. I would recommend this company to anyone that is in search of such a wonderful company.

The home is beautiful. It was built exactly as designed. They did a great job. We mostly worked with Derek and he was wonderful. He answered all of our questions. The quality of the home is good. I am happy with the service.

I thought this company did a fine job putting on my new roof, and from what I recall, I would estimate that I paid around or about five thousand dollars for their work and efforts. I would use them again because they did show up on time. They were friendly towards me, and I have had no problems with the work they did on my home. To me, that would indicate a company that does good work. Price-wise, I think they had given a fairly reasonable estimate. I know I paid over five thousand dollars for the roof to be redone like that, but other companies had given more costly estimates than this particular company.

The company did clean up after work was done. Overall, it was a good experience. The final cost was close to their estimate. I am well satisfied with the roof and would recommend them.
