POTEET TREE SERVICE

Note that the date of service and approximate $ spent are estimates as this is from memory. What I recall best is that Mr. Poteet was very responsive with the estimate and for scheduling the job itself. I learned a great deal from him as we walked the property and he informed me of the types of trees that we have, the potential problems with those trees, and how to care for them best. On the first day of service, the cutting of the trees went well initially and I was impressed with how the stumps were handled. My issues with the company and with the overall experience is two-fold. I was quoted one day of service for a particular number of trees to be cut down & hauled away and for dead wooding of several other trees. At the end of the day, I was told that another 1/2 day of service would be required, which increased the total cost of the job. By the looks of the yard at that time, I did not have much of a choice in the matter. In addition, the heavy equipment used left ruts in the lawn (that I have now fixed) and broke a clay drainage pipe in the back yard (that I will have to figure out how to replace). I would have expected an experienced company as such to have been more careful.

I think the tree was hit by lightening so it started resting on the house and got ready to fall or something. So I had to call my insurance people to find out. I had two offers to get the work done and the other offer was about half of Mr. Poteet's offer. I was concerned because I have a stylized roof on my home and not the typical graphite sort of roof. So I was thinking of the lower offer. Mr. Poteet also did two other things for that: he clipped all the trees all around the house and that were very important,and he removed two other trees on the property. My contractor was on site when Mr. Poteet?s crew came out. They came out at 8 or 9 o?clock and there was no evidence of the tree by the time I reached my residence by 4:30 or 5 o?clock. Everything was cleaned up; the only thing remaining was saw dust. In terms of paying him, it exceeded my insurance deduction for cutting up the tree. It was about $1500 and I wanted to pay him using a card, but he doesn?t accept cards. However, I told him that I would pay him $700 per month for five months and I finally paid that off this month. He was very professional and he came dressed professionally. My contractor was surprised and impressed with the army of people that Mr. Poteet brought. Everybody knew their job and they cut the trees well. They didn?t want to lift the tree up off the roof, but they wanted to cut the tree down in the front and then lift it off the roof. It would have made amazing secondary damage to the roof, but there was minimal damage to the roof and minimal damage to the gutters. I don't think I would have received the same services from the other company that gave em a quote. Mr. Poteet has a desire to do good work which he did. He will also work with you when there is a situation in which you are trying to pay him because he doesn?t accept credit cards. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They did a great job. My husband chose them after some research online and with Angie's List. They came out and did exactly what they said they would do. They did not leave a mess. Everything was done according to what they had talked to us about. They did take a bit longer to come out than they had originally estimated. It wasn't too long and it could have been due to inclement weather. But the service was excellent. The price wasn't bad but you can always improve!

I'd used Poteet 5 years earlier to remove 3 beautiful Bradford pears whose limbs had started falling. In 2008 after a drought the year before, 3 large trees in my front yard had to go, too. Dale Poteet is really easy to work with, and gave me competitive estimates. They arrived on schedule, got the work done, gave a clear estimate, and cleaned up after.

The service was excellent. He gave a thorough estimate and a lot of advice on future landscaping that I could have done. He stayed in contact with me as far as with appointment dates. they arrived when they said they were going to. I felt that the price was reasonable for the service they provided

The job was done carefully with no mistakes. It only took them one day to get the entire job done. They were professional up front and honest. They explained everything before they did it and told me how it was going to look once the trees were gone. The entire staff was friendly and the crew was helpful. I was sad they had to come down but they were too large to keep.
