The contractor was very hard to reach on the phone. Calls were ignored. Phone service often refused new messages from us. The crew tore out the walkway and old driveway in a couple of days, then left it to sit for several days. They worked only 2 to 4 hours many days. They used my garden hose and wheelbarrow without asking permission. The basic structure and appearance of the resulting paving and brickwork are good. The drainage pipes work quite well, also. We were charged $300 for topsoil that was of inferior quality. Some of it was hard clay that was difficult or impossible to break up. After 6 weeks, which we felt was at least 4 weeks too long, the majority of the job was done, but the contractor failed to complete the cleaning up of the brick and mortar work or the street in front of the house, even after our repeated requests.
Description of Work: Tore out old driveway and walkway and poured new aggregate driveway. Build new brick walkway. Built new brick mailbox. Installed drain pipes. Flagstone steps to basement. Grading and seeding.
