Snappy Computer does not return phone calls so everything takes a long time. It took at least a week for Snappy to diagnose the problem. It took another week to try to find the part. It was a Dell Studio 1537 purchased new in February of 2009. When they could not get the right part, which was an LED back lit screen (which I found readily available on ebay), they decided to get an older technology incandescent backlit screen, which would require a different inverter. Snappy estimated it would cost $200. It was a little bit high; however, it cost over $1000 new, so I decided to fix it. We waited two more weeks for the new parts, unfortunately when fixed, it still did not have video and it would not boot. At this point, all I could see was dollar signs so I told them I would just come and get it. This was the second time I told them I was giving  up and coming to get it, the first time he said their solder person could figure out how to fix it, this time was going to be different and I was taking it home. The Snappy representative determined I owed them $20. I paid it and ran all my personal information was on it and I did not want to get in a big argument about the price. When I got it home I studied the situation and my best guess is that the motherboard is bad along with something with the inverter. It was all adding up to a lot of money so I sold it on eBay for $150

My Sony laptop kept shutting down after 10-15 minutes of use.  I was sure it was a bad fan and it was overheating.  I watched a you tube video and how to fix and thought not for me. 

So I went in search of a repair place.  I called Best Buy and they said it would require an $80 deposit and they would mail it off to someone else to diagnose and then fix.  I found Snappy Computers close to my home and decided to try them.

 Worked out beautifully.  They were very attentive and kept me informed of the progress they were making on the diagnostics, turned out the fan was fine.  there was a small piece of plastic that had broken off a screw holder and the heat sink material needed updating. 

I got the computer back in 2 days and it has been running perfectly.
