Lanigan Worldwide Moving & Warehousing- Allied Van

If you don't want to read my whole review, the bottom line is that Allied “lost” (or stole) approximately $3k of our items in transit and accepts no responsibility. Not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. From start to finish, working with Allied was a terrible experience. First, we were told that the movers would come on a certain day, and when I called to confirm 2 days prior (because I hadn't heard back via email to confirm), I was told the movers would actually take 2 days and would come the next day. Next, when items were being packed, an entire closet was missed (Luckily, we did a walk through before we moved). Finally, Allied lost nearly $3,000 of items in our move, including our wedding silver, an unused designer purse and attachments for our Dyson vacuum (not to mention things we likely haven't noticed). When I submitted a claim, I was told that since we signed for our items, the claim was invalid (as if one could actually know what was in every box the day they were dropped off). We paid over $10k for the pleasure of this terrible experience. AVOID ALLIED AT ALL COSTS

First class from start to finish. Mitzi Lyne was prompt and efficient in providing estimates and other details.  Five crew arrived on time the day of loading and worked steadily to get done the same day.  All were courteous and helpful.  Unloading was just as good.  There was no damage.  I highly recommend them.

They were excellent.  The packers did a great job and nothing was damaged or broken.  The movers made sure to protect all of our furniture and there was no damage to any of our stuff.  They were all very professional.  Mike Dugger set up the move and was very helpful in explaining the entire process to me.  He made sure the packers and movers came out on December 18th, the day I specified.  He was wonderful and made the entire process very easy.  I would use again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend them.

A crew of 3 people arrived and packed all household goods.  These guys worked their rear ends off, taking approximately 10 hours to pack.  During this process, the packers took extreme care to not disturb my family's activities.  Three days later, the 53 foot trailer arrived with a crew of about 8 men.  With the utmost efficiency, the crew loaded the trailer and took great care to not damage furniture.  Each and every crew member introduced themselves to my family and made it clear that we could ask any of them any questions and raise any concerns.
After the truck was loaded, the crew performed a walk-through to ensure that all of our needs were met.  The crew also individually thanked us, which was very touching and very personal.
Once our goods were on the road, the driver called us throughout the journey to continuously update us on the pending arrival of our household goods.  Upon arrival, a crew of 3, efficiently unpacked all of our goods into our new residence.
This was a top-notch operation and made the stress of moving much more pleasant.

They showed up on time, were professional, broke nothing and got the job done on time.  We have moved many times and they were above average.  Highly recommend them.

The Contact representing Lanigan Worldwide moving - the local moving company that handles moving with Allied van lines, was excellent to deal with. The representative, Mike, was available even during off hours and weekends, and prompt with responses and answers to queries. He was certainly very pleasant to work with. The customer service representatives and claims adjusters were equally professional, punctual and responsive. If moving depended solely on them, we would definitely use Allied van lines again.
Unfortunately, the movers who handled our stuff were not that good. They were professional and polite at both loading and delivery, that's why I rated a 'C' on quality. But, our furniture was damaged, even though we requested them to be careful with some of our brand new things. Our dining chairs with leather seat and backing were disfigured due to weight placed on it and heat, the sofa legs were broken at the origin, there were visible and multiple nicks, scratches and chips on all wood furniture, even on the new ones.  Also one of the boxes had burst open due to the weight that was placed on it, and we had, presumably, what was part of a children's toy set from another household with our stuff. If the handling of the household goods had been better, I would recommend them without any doubt, but we were terribly disappointed and upset with the condition of our new furniture when we received it from Allied Van lines.
The furniture damages were attended to promptly by a local repair company that works with AVL; we are still waiting for the resolution of a claim that we put in recently.  Our shipment was delayed in its arrival, but AVL was nice enough to compensate us for reasonable expenses.

The movers were very good and did an excellent job. They worked quickly and were careful with our things. They were on time, very well trained movers and so friendly. They didn t scratch, damage or break one thing out of this huge move. I would highly recommend them to others.
