Although my Insurance Company required me to go to Abra for an estimate, I decided on Icon
after reading the reviews on both companies and talking to the people at Icon. They could not
have been any nicer !!! My Estimator was Johnathan and he was GREAT !! He kept me informed
on the progress and reassured me that everything was going to look good and that I would not be
able to tell that anything had happened to my car. When I went to pick up the car... WOW !!! It WAS
like nothing had ever happened !!! I am very picky but I cannot tell that it was ever damaged !!!
GREAT JOB !!! SO HAPPY and glad that I used ICON !!!
I took the car in with an insurance estimate from State Farm for repairing the right rear fender where another car hit it in the parking lot and left the scene. Then they did a separate quote for my rear bumper skin where the garage door scraped it. They had the car for 3 days and they washed/buffed the car out when they were finished. The paint is a perfect match. Sure, an expert could look at it if they knew where to look and see the orange peel of the repair that doesn't match the factory original orange peel and conclude a repair was made. However, if you didn't know where to look not even a professional could spot it. I will have the area wet sanded with 1500 grit and rebuffed and no one will ever notice.
In fact, they did such a fantastic job that I plan to take the car back to have them redo the front bumper skin repair ABRA made. They did a HORRIBLE job! The paint doesn't match, the finish is sub-par, and they burnt through the paint when they buffed it out. Rather than waste my time having ABRA stand behind their warranty I will just pay ICON to do the job right. Had I known they were this good I would have had them do the front bumper skin the same time they did the rear.
I brought in a 2007 black F-150 to have the front end repainted. I purchased the truck with 9,000 miles on it in 2007 and apparently the initial owner wanted the truck to be completely "blacked out" and had all the chrome painted black. That meant that the front chrome bumber, the grill and grill surround were painted black. Over the last 100,000 miles bugs, rocks and what ever else had chipped away on the black paint on the bumper, the grill and grill surround.
After some initial misunderstanding on exactly what I wanted painted, the group at Icon did an excellent job! I had a detail appointment after the paint job and they gladly dropped it off with them once the paint job was completed. With the paint job and the detail, it looks like a brand new (very black) shiny truck!
Wonderful service. They were dealing with Fred Loya Insurance, a company noted for delaying tactics and attempts to not pay out on claims. Jamie Clements, Estimator, was very persistent in getting approval and payment from them. She even assisted me a month after the repairs were completed when Fred Loya attempted to deny payment for a rental car.
The repairs to my car looked like new, too.
Everything with my experience at Icon Collision started out great. I actually was unfortunate enough to have 2 accidents within a week of each other in my brand new Audi (neither of which were my fault). The second accident the damage was significant to one side of the car and required that it be towed into the facility. I had already been scheduled to bring my car into the facility the following week to fix the undercarriage damage from a previous accident, so I went ahead and had the car towed to Icon. Right off the bat, they told me it would take 4-5 weeks to fix all of the damage - it ended up taking 7 and there some major communication deficits on the part of Icon throughout the experience. This created a lot of frustration on my part b/c I was getting different information nearly every time I called and my insurance was being told the car was ready when it was not. However, once the owners were made aware of my frustration, they rectified the situation immediately and were very apologetic of the communication problems I had been exposed to. In the end, the thing that matters most is the work was done with impeccable quality and my Audi looks brand new again. Hopefully, bringing the communication issues to the owner's attention insures they do not occur for future customers and I believe they won't . In an effort to prove they were dedicated to ensuring i had a quality experience with Icon, they comped my deductible and continually apologized for the issues. I think it takes a lot to admit when a mistake is made, especially by a large company, and I think it says a lot about the character of the ownership that they went to such lengths to ensure my end experience with icon was positive. My rating overall is a B simply b/c the communication issues did occur and you can't make them go away - however, i would recommend the company and would use them again in the future if i (unfortunately) had more collision damage.
