Green Acres Landscapes & Gardens

I called and asked for a bid. I was old that they were too busy to come out and give me one, to call back. No way!

We have used him for years and he does so much work around our yard. We have become friends over the years because he is so helpful and works to keep my big yard beautiful and cleaned up.

Overall the experience was disappointing; we thought we were going to be doing business with a full scale landscaping company, but that turned out not to be the case.

This report is regarding a man who used to use the company name of Green Acres.  There is no company by this name.  This man is using a business card with a company name of " Unique Makerover Contracting" (this is the exact spelling on the card).  His name is Bruce with a possible last name of Allan.  He will not give you his last name nor his address, you can only contact him by his cell phone number  901-484-0712.

Bruce talks a good talk but does not have the knowledge, ability, or equipment to complete any jobs other than basic lawn clean up.  He made many promises that were not kept.  My husband and myself did most of the work ourselves.  We needed a hill terraced and the whole back yard regraded and sodded.  To build the walls Bruce employed a couple of guys who did not speak english and did a very very sloppy job.  The errors are just too numerous to list.  We will have to rebuild the walls next year.  

Bruce has no clue how to properly build retaining walls.We paid for soil to be brought in but got a small bit of left over sod from some one else's yard.  We paid Bruce for the concrete and we paid the entire bill to the concrete company.  In order to finish the job we paid twice for everything.  Bruce estimated four pallets of sod, it took 10 and I took it off the trailer and laid it even though we paid Bruce to do this.  We paid Bruce for the sod but he would not bring any sod unless is was paid for again.  It took about 5 weeks with his bringing a pallet here and a pallet there to get enough sod to cover the whole yard.  It was a mud pit for the entire Spring.  Our backyard was finished through the hard work of my husband and myself.  Do not depend on this man to complete a large project.

Bruce got good marks for responsiveness because he was the only landscaper we contacted  (I contacted about 9) that actually called back and gave us an estimate in a timely manner.  He answers his phone and showed up when promised, at least at the beginning of the project.

He's done a great job with all the projects. Anything I've needed done, he has done.
