Walked into carmax had to find someone to help me. I was told no one had time to appraise my car so they put me on a waiting list. Waited about 45 minutes to an hour. Still couldn't get anyone to help me so we left. Went to another car dealer and bought a car from them instead. Everyone was nice at carmax. No one was rude or anything however everyone seemed a little unorganized and didn't seem like they had enough help. Might use them again if I could get some help in a timely manner

Overall, we were pleased with our purchase. When we ran into trouble with an out-of-state title not being properly handled, the salesperson worked with us and on our behalf to get the situation rectified. We were very pleased on the purchase date and recently gave the car to our daughter.

They were good. The mileage was reasonable. Their price was a little high. The car was good and looked brand new. Blue-book said it was $8000.

6-27-12: bought Dodge Grand Caravan from CarMax.
6-28-12: had personal mechanic check out van—found oil around head gasket and I checked Dodge
website….
6-29-12: found recall on Dodge’s website—told CarMax—they took Van and sent over to dealership, gave me loaner.
Heat sensor replaced. Was told oil was from spill when CarMax changed the oil—no head gasket leakage.
7-9-12: picked Van up from CarMax.
7-16-12: had Van detailed—detailers told me about the stow-n-go seat behind driver’s seat not working, plus the switch on the
other stow-n-go seat behind passenger’s seat missing—bent.
7-17 and 18-12: left VM’s with CarMax regarding the stow-n-go seat issues. CarMax called me scheduled appointment for the next week—the 25th for me to drop van off.
7-25-12: dropped Van off, husband took me to work. Picked van up that afternoon—could not repair, they had to order part. 8-8-12: part in—dropped Van off, Husband took me to work. Picked van up that afternoon—the wrong part had been sent—had to reorder parts again. Was told that I would be called as soon as parts came in and would be put at the front of the line for repair. Found out later from CarMax the part came in 8-9-12, but no one called me that week or even the next week. I called CarMax left VM’s week of 8/13. CarMax called me back on Thursday 8-16 to schedule appt—I asked for Friday—he
said Friday was full, and only one mechanic working, that Monday would be better.
8-19-12: dropped van off on Sunday.
8-20-12: CarMax called in afternoon, said van was ready—he had seen the mechanic stow the seats several times. Got there at 4:30, requested they show me how to stow the seats—seat behind driver not working—they could not get it working. Got loaner van. CarMax said he would meet me at my work to give me my van once is repaired.
8-21-12: Rec’d called from CarMax--mechanic said the part that was replaced on Monday the 20thbroke. They have ordered the part again--will be delivered tomorrow andrepaired tomorrow.
8-22-12: CarMax came to my office to deliver Van.
Over 733 miles going back and forth and over 20 hours in the physical driving—not including the wait times at CarMax.

Poor customer service, could not get refund for fees paid to have junk car sent across country. They lied about condition of car. One of the two cars was not in sellable condition.

I was looking to buy a car but didn't want to waste time in the dealership. They were able to get info from me over the phone and see what my approval was. I never got a call back. I called back and the guy said he'd call me back in 15 minutes. Turns out I was approved through several lenders for the vehicle I wanted but by the time I found out, it had sold. I was so angry that I'll never do business with them or send anyone there.

My husband and I went to CarMax to buy a car that day. We knew what we wanted. We had the money. We walked in, saw the car we were interested in and spent 5 or 10 minutes sitting in it and inspecting ever inch of it. None of the salespeople said a word to us. They saw us, but didn't smile, say anything or even walk in our direction. We went out to the lot to look at other cars thinking maybe someone would approach us. But the salespeople still looked at us without acknowledging or greeting us at all. We went back into the showroom and looked at the first car we were interested in. We looked around for a salesperson, and several of them were in a clump staring into space. But no one even said "Hi." Finally, after about 5 or 10 more minutes, we left without a salesperson even talking to us. All they had to do was ask. They missed a sale, and obviously, I am sharing my bad experience with others. I won't ever go to another CarMax again. Fortunately, nothing they have is terribly unique, and we can find the car we are looking for somewhere else.

Overall it went great. I had to pay to have the vehicle transfered, but it was a reasonable fee. It took a while to get it transfered. They were very friendly and there was no pressure. The purchase went very quick and they were very helpful. They let me decide to look around or be shown what they had. I chose to look for myself and they gave me the space to do that. And they were there when I was ready to make a decision. The paperwork went very fast. They offered me extra services and when I declined they left it at that.
