Ceramic Tile Service
Here is a letter that I wrote to the owner of the company which came back with an error saying that email address doesnt exist!
Dear Sir/Madam,
I was in the market for Granite counter tops and I had requested Granite
and Marble services to help with that project. When I mentioned about
this project to a friend and colleague of mine, Mark Myers at St. Jude,
he insisted that I give your company a call to check on the job before I
proceed with the other company. He mentioned that you installed several
counter tops at his house in the past, you did a good job and that he
had referred you to several others. So, David Chandler had come out to
my place on 06/03/2014, Tuesday and measured my counter tops. I showed
him my proposed contract from Granite and Marble Services to double
check the measurements and he requested for a copy of that. He mentioned
that he was going to be able to do a better deal than them.
He mentioned that my job required two full slabs for the
kitchen and master bath, which I would need to pick out and that I could
use remnants for my powder room, laundry room and a guest bath. So we
marked a bunch of slabs including the one attached with this email as
the ones we were interested in. I got pictures of those slabs and my
wife and I agreed that the slab in the attached picture would be the
best fit for our powder/guest bath/laundry.
I called David the next day and told him that we wanted that
particular remnant. He said that he will work out a price for the
remnant and send a list of granite slabs that I could select to work
with the price he would give me. He called back and said that if I
wanted that particular remnant slab, then the price would be $100 higher
than the quote from the other installer. I agreed to the deal,
mentioning very clearly that I am willing to pay $100 more because of
that granite that we liked.
I had to request him multiple times to send me the list of
stone places and the names of the granite that would work with that
price, to use for my kitchen and master bath. After two days, I received
the information from him and we started going out to the stone places
to pick slabs for my kitchen and master bath.
Meanwhile, I had also talked to David about stopping by and
picking out the sinks for my vanities. He mentioned that Tuesday,
06/10/2014 would be a good day to meet him around noon. He called on the
morning of 06/10/2014 and left me a message saying that the remnant
piece we had selected and, very specifically, he agreed to use and
because of which the price was $100 higher, was no longer available.
When I called him about that, he mentioned that he had to use the
remnant slab we picked, on another job because they had wrongly measured
a slab for them. When I reminded him about our agreement, his response
was that he no longer had the slab available and I can pick out
something else or go back to Granite and Marble services. Also, he
mentioned that nothing was agreed on paper.
He also mentioned that there are several slabs with my name on it and he wouldn't know what I wanted. Please note the following:
1.
At all times during this one week period I had displayed every
intention to move forward and get the job done with American Tile. That
David mentioned that nothing was agreed on paper seems to mean that
whatever your company agrees upon, does not hold good faith. Also, he
never mentioned that I needed to sign a contract paper to get started
and secure the stone. I was following through on each step that he had
asked me to complete and this was not one of them! He had mentioned that
I needed to pay before he tore out my counter tops for measurement and
that is it.
2. It was abundantly clear to both parties that the price was
$100 higher because we were going to use the remnant slab. So, him
saying that there were several pieces with my name on them and that he
did not know what I wanted is clearly untrue.
3. He is using a piece of granite that he agreed to sell to
me, for someone else and he wants me to buy another slab if I needed
that particular granite and that the price is going to change
significantly. This clearly is discrimination.
4. Based on our agreement, last week, I had called up Granite
and Marble Services and told them I did not need their services because I
was going to work with American Tile. Now, if I go back to them and
tell them that I need their services back it is totally unprofessional
and unfair. Please note that David mentioned that their price was very
competitive which underlines the fact that they had the best intentions
at heart. The reason I decided to go with your company was because Mark
and Tina Myers had recommended you highly and I was ready to pay $100
higher for a granite piece we liked.
I mentioned about this incident to Mark and Tina Myers and
they felt really sorry that they referred me to your company. They
mentioned that they were not going to refer anyone to your company
anymore and that they will discourage anyone from using your company. I
would do the same thing based on the discriminatory and unfair treatment
I had received as well.
Trying to cut corners and using bait-and-switch tactics may
work in the short term. But it is only those businesses that work in the
best interest of their customers, that last longer. I wanted to spend
time and write this email because I hope that your company will at least
be aware of how you are affecting people around you. Well and truly
sorry that I decided to work with your company.
Thanks,
Kas

They did a good job and the work was done with quality and precision. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs to have this kind of work done. The employees were friendly and on time. They made sure to clean up all the work and answer all of the questions that we had regarding the work.
