Heating and Air Conditioning Service
Kris Ambrose was hired to install an air handler/ heater in my home. The first issue was he didn't realize until after the purchase that he was replacing a 3 ton unit with a 4 ton unit. He failed to inform me that the returns need to be upgraded. He never added the needed return capacity. He failed to install a filter box. He told me just unbolt the unit and slide one in front of the return. He left a gapping hole in the back side of the unit . Instead of sheet metal, he used tape which was leaving the unit exposed to sucking in attic insulation. He broke my attic stairs. He failed to re-run the drain line out properly and I ended up with a leak in the ceiling and damage. He changed out the breaker without a permit. He left all the debris in the attic ( the10 inch hard pipes which he removed)... too lazy to pull them down.
Upon completion he didn't charge my unit with freon and tried to upcharge me for that.Upon completion he didn't hook the air conditioner coils and condenser up properly so they cooling didn't work. by summer.
Upon completion of the heat work, the system was blowing luke warm air and he claimed that's the best a 4 ton unit would produce. He hadn't hooked up the heat strips properly I am told. Nor did he hook up anything in the unit properly.... He claimed he had to disassemble the unit to get it up the attic stairs and now the insides are kinda laying inside the unit, not strapped up or supported properly... Neither did he strap up or support any of the flex pipe.
And he broke my first attic stair and just left it .... .
Because he felt that the insurance company would pay for the unit and installation , he came back to collect more money above the agreed to price.
He also insisted he does plumbing on the side too and had some jackleg plumber change our a diverter stem and handle on my tube... As a result I had water literally running from the diverter at the wall ... When I had another plumber come behind him, it was clear he hadn't replaced the stem with new parts as he claimed . The handle he used was rusted inside. He kept calling back harrassing me to try to get the parts to "return them to the parts store" to get his $10 back.
Now as I mentioned this was also an attempt at my insurance claim. So he left the old unit on the front porch of the house for a week instead of the back patio or somewhere discrete. I ended up with a Memphis City code violation for that.
Upon complaining he was insistant that he did EVERYTHING right.
