It went very well. They were done in two days. The work included removing the old shingles from two buildings, replacing some damaged decking in several places, and installing new shingles. They also had a leaf guard system installed on my existing gutters and replaced some boards on one dormer. That work was done on a separate day. They did a great job of picking up pieces of old roofing and roofing nails our of my shrubbery and off my drive.

Response from 5 Ash Roofing
"This review is false. We are the installers for Home Depot, but we did not install the original roof that she purchased from Home Depot. We were contracted to find the cause of a leak, what we found was that the roof was not installed correctly and that it needed to be replaced. We also found a problem with how the gutters were draining on the roof, we told the customer if the they did not fix the problem it would likely cause a leak in the future (They did not fix this). We did as were told by our Home Depot Contacts and therefore we can not be held responsible for this situation. We were not hired by this customer, but instead she hired Home Depot At Home Services and they hired us. The BBB already dismissed this complaint months ago and we still have an A+ rating with them."

Five Ash Roofing has attempted to repair and then replace the roof on my house; their work was unsatisfactory, and the roof still leaks. In 2001, we purchased a roof from Home Depot with a 30 year piece of mind guaranty; it was installed by their contractor. In 2002, the roof began leaking and has leaked repeatedly since then. Numerous attempts were made by Home Depot over the years to resolve this without success. The last attempt at repair was made by Five Ash Roofing; this too was unsuccessful, and in June of 2015 the roof was replaced by that company. I had asked Mr. Fiveash to alert me to any structural problems and replace any decking necessary. Subsequent to this, we undertook the repair of our house. The years of repetitive water damage had caused significant rot in many of the roofs structural components; several rooms in the house had sustained water damage, as well, and mold was present; we proceeded to undertake the repair of our home. Our contractor found that the replacement roof installed under Home Depot's auspices by Five Ash Roofing was deficient. In one area, it had been installed over rotten decking; there were several areas where the flashing was inadequate. This work was redone by our contractor; in addition, much of the fascia, and many of the soffits and rafters required replacement. Several major structural beams were also heavily damaged, but at no time during the installation of the roof was there ever a mention of any problem. To further complicate matters, almost predictably, the new roof installed by Five Ash roofing has begun to leak. Home Depot has again assigned Mr. Shane Hill and Mr. Troy Fiveash to resolve this problem. An insurance adjuster under Home Depot's auspices along with our contractor, and the aforementioned representatives of Home Depot inspected the roof and found several areas of deficiency. We have allowed Mr. Fiveash and Home Depot the opportunity to correct their defective workmanship, and during this process, Mr Fiveash has been argumentative and refused to take responsibility for his work despite an independent representative form Home Depot pointing out  it's inadequacies.

"We were not the company hired for this job. We were hired by Home Depot At Home Services as a sub-contractor. We did as we were told by our Home Depot contacts. We can not be held responsible for this roof when we only did as we were told by our superiors at Home Depot. This customer filed the same complaint to the BBB and they found that we did our best to satisfy this customer. They marked the the review as such and we still have an A+ rating with the BBB."

I got 5 Ash's information from Angie's list.
I called and stated that I had two skylights on a pitched roof with chronic leaks. Other roofers had come out and some actually did some work, but all left stating that I had to keep the debris away from the top of the skylights. The debris was allowing the water to dam up and run over the top of the flashing. I stated that I wanted a permanent solution that didn't involve me having to go up on the roof to remove debris.
An estimator arrived as scheduled. He did find some holes that needed repair and stated that he could eliminate the damming problem.
Repairs were made on time and for the estimated amount. A "baffle" was created to keep future debris from building up at the top of the skylights. Several heavy rains since the repairs with no leaks.

Tory Fiveash sent his man to inspect our roof and give an estimate. We asked him if he saw any area where squirrels and rats could enter. He did and took care of it for us.
They arrived on the appointed day and in two days they had finished. The workers were courteous, helpful and cleaned up very well. The roof looks GREAT and we feel very much tucked in. Troy is a local man and really knows his job. His workers enjoy working for him and do a good job. I highly recommend Fiveash Roofing.

After insurance inspected and authorized replacing the roof, I searched for a roofing company that had been around local with good reviews. After looking at a lot of companies, we decided to contact 3 companies, 5Ash was our first choice. They showed up that day and measured for the estimate. I had the estimates as requested by the next day. After reviewing the quotes and references, we decided to go with 5Ash. They weren't the cheapest, but for the quality of reviews, we thought that it was worth the price. Setup to meet with Rob and Troy. They beat the competitors price and helped explain the insurance paperwork. We picked out the shingles on Monday and their team was there Friday to start work.

The job was a 2 day schedule and they started early. It was 4 in the afternoon when they finished the front of the house, and rather than starting the back side, they left it alone so that it wouldn't be exposed overnight. Back early in the morning and finished the back side by 4. Cleaned up the site very well and the roof looked great. Job foreman took me around the job site and was there to answer any questions before leaving.

I recommend the 5Ash team for the quality of product and work. Every time that I called, they answered the phone during business hours. Rob was able to answer any question. Come Friday afternoon, Rob contacted me with cell phone numbers as they were not in the office on Saturday. They made themselves available. This is a top professional team.

The roof was fixed before the inside spot was. It was taken care of life insurance but less than company insurance requested. They came out and inspected it for free. I even had another spot on a piece of roof that they did not replace but came out and fixed free afterwards. They do what they said they will do. They were prompt and on time.

They were incredible. They came out the same day I called to do an estimate. A couple of weeks later I decided to go with them. I literally called them and the next day, on Friday, they had someone out so we could pick out shingle colors. That Monday they completed the roof. They had a really good price. They gave us a $500 discount because we paid in cash. Another company quoted us $18,000 to do the roof. Our roof has a 25 year warranty and they stand by it.

We were very happy with them. They were incredibly prompt. They did great work for the most reasonably price that we could find. The only issue we had was they did leave more roof nails around than we would have liked. We had the work done in October and there were leaves on the ground so I don't know that they could have done a much better job. We had a bad storm in the middle of them putting on the roof and I was really worried it was going to create some leaks or issues. The owner gave me his direct number so he could call me after hours if I needed to. It worked out I never needed to but I really appreciated that.

We had a wonderful experience with 5ash roofing. The owner, Troy, called me to provide an estimate within 2 hrs of my request. He had some of his men visit our property and then used their assessment and a satellite imaging system to provide a written estimate within 24 hours. We got 4 quotes on replacing our roof and Troy's estimate was the lowest by about $600. Our highest estimate was over $2500 more. However, we considered a variety of factors besides price. We had a number of questions as this was our first time replacing a roof. Troy took the time to answer each and every one via either phone or email and we felt very good about hiring him. On the first day of work, the crew arrived at 6:45 (15 minutes before Troy said they would) and immediately got to work. They were very professional and polite while on our property. We only have 2 doors to the house and I needed to leave/let our dogs out every so often. The crew made sure that I always had clear, safe access to at least one of the exits. The job took exactly as long as Troy said it would (only 1 1/2 days) and the crew did a good job of blowing off debris and cleaning up all of their trash before leaving.
Workmanship aside, I was very impressed with Troy's customer service. A particular example: There was a big rainstorm on the first night of the job. I called Troy because I was concerned about both our property and the equipment his crew left at our house for the night. He assured me that they had never had a leak while a job was in process and even went so far as to tell me that, if we proved the exception to their experience, I should call him immediately, even if it was 2 AM. I really appreciated that offer. Luckily, their work was solid so I never had to make the call.
The only minor complaint we had is that we did find about 20 nails around the perimeter of the property after the job was finished and the crew had departed. This wasn't a big deal for us as we know these things happen, but if this is a concern, I would suggest asking the men to do a second sweep with the magnet before they leave. We are very happy with the warranty Troy offers on his workmanship and would absolutely hire 5ash roofing again in the future.

The roof was completed in one day, even though they had to work until 9 pm to finish. I didn't see much of the process, but my neighbor, who watched the whole thing said they did a much better job than others nearby. (We had a lot of storm damage, and several roofs around me were replaced.) I know the finished job looks excellent. The siding and gutters took several days to complete ( I had told the contractor I wasn't in any hurry, I just wanted it done right). The men Who worked on my house were friendly and polite, and one even agreed to let my dogs out of the house for a while in the middle of the day to relieve themselves. This involved getting everybody else out of the backyard (several of them were afraid of the dogs), making sure the gate was latched and then getting them to go back inside the house. He did this just as a favor so I didn't have to rush home at lunchtime. All in all , I had an excellent experience with this contractor and would recommend them to anyone. The job was completed at the price agreed on and in an agreed upon time-frame.
