contract...came and gave us an estimate and once the contract was signed was
told the work would be completed in about 3 weeks and it would take 2-3 days to
complete the job.
Four weeks later they showed up to put
my posts in the ground (on a Monday) we did not see any workers again until
Friday. At that time we were told that some posts were put in the wrong places and
they would have to be moved, so they did that and put up a few of the
stringers. Then they said they would be back the next morning, well they showed
up around noon on Saturday. Put the rest of the stringers up and started with
the pickets....well again the job was not finished that day and we are told
again a post is in the wrong spot and will have to be moved...so they said they
would come back the next day (Sunday) first thing to finish it up. Again,
around noon they come to the house and start "working". Somehow they
are here all day (to do not even 1/2 of a fence finished)...but it actually
gets finished!
Later that day I go and walk the fence
and notice 20+ of the pickets are EXTREMELY warped and one of the posts that a
gate is attached to is loose. So we call the company and are told that the
owner will be coming out to take a look.
That never happens but he sends the
workers out to take a look. The worker proceeds to tell me that the wood is not
covered under the warranty...and that this happened because it had not been
weather sealed (keep in mind we have had the fence for about 5 days at this
point, AND it had not rained even a drop over this time). I let him know the
boards were warped when he put them up and he eventually agreed to replace the
boards and fix the post.
Well, that day (Friday) he actually did
no work to fix the problem. He left a few boards and said again he would come
back the next morning to fix it. The next day (Saturday) they show up and
replace the bad pickets...and dig up the loose post...then he tells me there
are issues with water standing in my yard where this post is placed and that it
may take a while for the concrete to dry (but he used the quick dry and a form
to help it)....a few hours later he tells me its not dry and that he will be
back on Tuesday to check on it. Being nice we said okay but requested he close
the gate so our dogs can still be put in the yard. He agreed to that and left.
Tuesday rolls around and no sign of them....finally they show up on Thursday.
They mount the gate BUT didn't bring the saw to cut the post off to the correct
height. He said he will be working at my neighbors on Friday and would cut it
off then. Again, being nice I said okay and showed him a few boards I had
noticed he missed putting screws in. It is now Sunday and I still have one tall
post and the screws are still missing. He did walk over today and say he was
going to get it finished before he left the job at my neighbors but guess
what....they are gone and my fence is STILL NOT COMPLETED. So our 2-3 day
project has now taken a month + to complete.
DO NOT USE THIS FENCING COMPANY!
"We agree this job had few gremlins. We had a new crew leader working the job. He is no longer employed by us and we did send a seasoned foreman to go back out and he addressed the family's concerns. We hope that if {member name removed} is not completely satisfied she contacts us again. We tried very hard to make sure she was eventually satisfied with her fence. This is a very busy time for us and the fencing industry at large, all the fencing companies are busy with many different projects this time of year. Wood fences are hard to take care of in general because they warp very quickly. We try to replace warped boards if they warp within the first 6 months, however this is not a workmanship issue. We have no control over whether or not a board warps, there is no way to make sure the board will not warp it is a work of nature and does what it wants, it is in no way guaranteed by us (this is stated in the contract our customers sign and is gone over during the sales process.) Even the distributor who sells the wood will not guarantee it. Lowes, Home Depot, and Capitol Wholesale (where we purchase our wood) will not guarantee the boards will not warp either. This is just what happens to wood. It is best to seal and stain them as quickly as possible once they are relatively dry from the weather. Each board cost money, the estimate the customer is given is for the amount of wood they need, for each new board replaced we buy the board ourselves we do not charge the customer more money for a new board. That is a cost charged to us for each new board. We installed over 600 fences last year with a 100% guaranteed promise, we are on track to do that many again this year. It does take three to four weeks to get a fence installed this time of year. The procedure does take a few days, we set the post in concrete and then let it set up before we nail boards. If the ground is rocky (we do NOT charge rock fees) or soft and eroding it can cause problems that are not related to workmanship but are nature related, when this happens we try to work with the home owners the best we can. We do try to respond to each customer's needs. We are open from 7am-5pm and you can reach us at 615-891-9144. We try to respond to each customer asap. We did contact the customer to try to resolve her inconveniences and hope that she is happy with the fence she ended up with."
"We are very sorry you were not satisfied with your job, however we could not find a customer with your name or address in our files or in our books. We try very hard to give everyone an estimated install date, but because of weather or job related issues, including rock, sometimes jobs are delayed. We get 50% down for purchase of materials and get the remaining 50% when the job is done and the customer is 100% satisfied. We also carry a 1 year guarantee on the workmanship of all our jobs."
"Thank you so much!"
"Sorry for the material delays sometime happen. We try our best to get jobs done in a timely manner. Thank you for doing business with us!"
