We just bought a new home that didn't have propane service. I love gas ranges and my wife wanted some gas logs for the fireplace. So we began our search for a propane service provider who could deliver a smaller, 120 gallon tank. This turned out to be a challenge, as they seemed to be fairly scarce. We arranged for a purchase (we weren't interested in leasing) with one company only to find out when he got there that they don't sell their tanks, only lease them. Frustrated, we finally found out about a relatively new propane business called Fort Loudoun Propane. The woman on the phone spent a good deal of time with me working out the details of what we needed. We had to have some pipe work done as well so it wasn't just a quick install. We were quoted a price for the tank and pipe work and given a special deal on the propane (which was going for a lot more at the time). On install day, two gentlemen showed up with the tank on the back of the truck. My wife and I had long discussions on where to put the thing because we didn't want it to be visible and didn't want to pay the extra amount for a buried tank. The guys had the tank almost in place when we started talking about where we really wanted to put it but was told by other companies that it couldn't go there because of code restrictions. Well, the older gentleman stopped what he was doing and explained that the desired spot did not violate any codes and if we wanted it there they would put it there. This added a great deal of extra work to the install but they were accommodating and seemed pleased to help us get what we wanted. Since the install we have had two fill ups on our gas. They have been responsive and their prices are always competitive with others in the area. I would highly recommend Fort Loudoun Propane.
