RICHARD'S PAVING

A couple months into it, I'm very disappointed with the asphalt driveway that Richard's Paving laid at my house. I'm extremely sorry I had not subscribed to Angie's List prior to hiring this contractor and I guess I didn't do my homework well enough! Although they gave me a good price, there are/were a couple major issues. First of all, they arrived several hours after the appointment time and did not call me to inform me of the delay (they had flat tire problems). The job itself went fine, but when they finished, late in the afternoon, they again had flat tire issues and left a very large piece of equipment in the street in front of my house, saying they'd be back in an hour to pick it up. They never showed up. The streetlight in front of my house was out and no reflective warning indicators marked the the location of the equipment. A metro police officer came by later that evening, and I was finally able to get a response from their office and they said, again, they'd be there in an hour to pick it up. They did come at last, but simply moved that piece of equipment into my yard. They finally picked it up the next morning. Second, it's apparent now that the driveway has had a few months to cure that they used a very coarse grade of asphalt. I'll have it sealed in the spring and I think that'll help the appearance and hopefully the endurance of the surface, but, like I said, I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of the material.
