Response from Custom Concrete Coatings
"I know this is an old review but I can not take credit for this job. It was not us. Just now starting to monitor this account so I did not catch it."

The company power washed the old concrete. Then they used a machine to rough up the surface so the new concrete coating would bond to the old concrete. They applied a smooth concrete coating and an additional concrete coating to give the surface a textured appearance. A pattern was cut into the new covering to incorporate the old cracks which resulted in a stone like appearance. They then applied two coats of color and then applied a sealer.

We were looking for a way to repair a large joint crack in our patio, which had been caused when the first small patio had been enlarged by the previous owner of our house. The joint was unsightly and there were numerous smaller "spider" cracks in various points in the concrete. We had a roof constructed over the patio a year before, and now we wanted to bring the concrete appearance up to the same standard. We met Glen, the owner of CCC at a home show, and invited him to provide us a cost estimate. We had such estimates done by 4 different companies. We liked the appearance of the work Glen showed us at other customers. We signed a contract in August. Glen had to finish other jobs, and then some of his crew got sick, so the work was not perfomed until early October. Glen and 4 other men did the work in two days. They explained the work they would do, and Glen helped us choose the color that we wanted, as well as the tile pattern in the final design. They made the tile pattern such that the apparent "grout" areas ran directly down the previous joint, which they repaired before starting. They also put filler in the spider cracks. We let the final product sit over the winter. In February, some of the spider cracks reappeared through the overlay. Glen came out and added additional finish over these at no added cost. The resulting patio looks wonderful. We have patio furniture that matches both our house siding and the concrete and our vistors rave about the appearance. CCC was not the cheapest of the companies we received bids from, but the difference was only a few hundred dollars and we are very pleased with the results.
