work on schedule. He is personable and very responsive to my requests and needs. I would highly recommend him -- he was recommended to me initially by a neighbor who was also pleased with his work.
In short: We feel like his workers just didn't care and besides not putting things back when they finished, they also threw 7-10 cig butts in our yard, We feel he is way overpriced and the quality of the work was not what we expected and we would not recommend him to anyone.
In response to HomeTek's response he says everything was fine until I broke the window which is NOT the case. It STARTED with the gate repair and continued with all of the above events. We tried to be understanding so we were not complaining to Mike until the window incident. Yes, it wasn't until after that happened that everything else came to light. My husband was not home for several days after the painting was done so could not inspect the work and alot of items in this review weren't known until after the window incident! Further, In the Company's Response Mike does not address anything, other than the broken window which is just one of many of our complaints! I would guess that's because there is no justification.
"My company HomeTek always strives for excellence and we pride ourselves on great customer service and making the customer number one. I have been self employed for over 25 years with success, something which does not occur unless you treat your customers with respect. I live my life and run my business with Christian values and am a husband of 20 years and father of two. To read how disappointed [member name removed] was with our company is disappointing to say the least. Our experience with him was very good overall and they appeared very happy with our work and customer service prior to one specific incident occurring at their home which was somewhat out of my control. One of my crew moved the ramp which allows their cat to go outside(we needed to move the ramp to paint the house) and did not put it back where it belonged. I take responsibility for that. I offered to come over that evening to put the ramp back in place and they asked me to be there 9am the next morning which is exactly what I did. Unfortunately,[member name removed] wife decided to move the ramp prior to me arriving and broke one of the windows which they blamed upon me. Why she decided to move it when she knew I was on my way is beyond me. From that point things went dramatically downhill. Shortly thereafter, [member name removed] called me on my cell phone and began to verbally abuse me by calling me just about every name in the book. I had never been so humiliated or shocked in my life and the phone call was extremely disturbing to say the least. He would not let me get a word in to explain my side of the story. I refuse to let anyone speak to me in this manner no matter what the circumstances and I decided that my company would never do business with him or his wife again. Everything we did for them including the estimate, consultation, and the work performed was done professionally and respectfully with no complaints until his wife broke the window. Then, everything became my fault. It is with regret that I have to write this response but I feel that I need to protect my company and let the members on Angie's List know that we are a professional company and treat every customer with respect while providing excellent service and pricing. My past customers and ratings on Angie's List reflect this. I would ask that this one skewed complaint not discourage you from using us for your home improvement needs in the future. I will personally make sure you have a great experience with HomeTek. Mike Yovino Owner"
