Duris Vincent personally came to my house and estimated my roof based on inspection from the ground. He was not able to physically climb the ladder due to an injury. He was the most expensive estimate I received but I went with him because of his warranty. He had a 25 year warranty on materials and labor. The BBB did not have any complaints on his business. From the first day on the project there were issues. He tried to go up on the price due to the fact that my roof had two sets of shingles, which I advised him about at the time of the estimate. I told him that I could get someone else to do it to which he replied that he had another crew that could do the job in a week or so. I agreed it could wait. The second crew arrived and all the shingles were removed and I ended up with a big mess of nails and shingles all over my driveway and landscaping. Then the rain came and the shingles were installed, wet. I was assured that this was not an issue. The day after the roof was completed, I walked the roof to inspect the work. I am not a roofer but it looked ok to me except for an area that was very soft when you stepped on it. I inspected the wood from the attic and found a plank that was split that had not been there before. When I brought it up to Mr. Vincent, he said it was already split before they started the work. I told him that area was not soft before and asked if it was previously there, why they didn't bring it to my attention to see if I wanted it fixed. He agreed that he would fix it, and they did. Of course, this was before I wrote the final check. A couple of years later, I noticed the area around the chimney was getting soft, in an area that they had replaced rotten wood. I called Mr. Vincent and he agreed to come take a look at it. He did not show up and later never returned my calls. After months of trying, I contacted a lawyer and had a letter sent to Mr. Vincent. He contacted my lawyer and proceeded to tell him what he thought of me. I debated taking him to court and decided he wasn't worth any more of my time. I contacted another company to repair the area around the chimney roiughly three years ago and have yet to have another issue. They said the flashing around the chimney was poorly done and the wood around the chimney did not go all the way to the 2x4 for support. It looks like the business address has changed. It used to be on Treymour Way in Knoxville.
