"Hi Thomas, We immediately reached out on your cell and home phone and via email. However, we have not received a response, so we are posting this reply. We apologize you feel as though you didn?t have a good experience. It is always our goal to serve our customers well. We installed your system on May 26th, 2020 and made a follow-up call on May 28th to be sure you were completely satisfied. You were happy with all that we did at that point in time. In late June, Kathy called and brought up concerns related to your granite countertop, and in response, we swiftly dispatched a representative on June 30th to listen to your concerns, inspect your countertop, and re-test your water. Results showed that our water treatment equipment was working perfectly, and all your original issues with your water were addressed. Per your complaint, we did observe an area on your granite countertop where you stated that water from the dish-drain, which sits on the countertop, had caused a stain. On the phone, she thought it was the dish strainer water that caused the etching of the countertop, but when our service professional was there, she thought it was the Reverse Osmosis water from the drinking water spigot. We?re not sure how the granite was etched on your granite. Due to the uniqueness of your complaint, we took many measures to investigate if this was a common problem with Reverse Osmosis water and granite countertops such as reaching out to the national water treatment dealers to ask about other similar complaints. According to them, there were no complaints reported with similar equipment as yours and granite countertops. Therefore, it does not seem reasonable that clean water from our equipment failed to perform or created special conditions to cause etching. The only potential cause we can think of is that the countertop was not sealed properly or a chemical cleaning agent was spilled at some point. The owner, David, has been in professional water treatment for over 25 years and has never had a complaint about clean water etching granite or staining it. He has installed systems in over 10,000 homes in his career, and most of them have granite countertops. She also made a statement that the Project Supervisor said the sulfur smell of the water was due to ?dead carcasses.? There is a bacteria in water called sulfate reducing bacteria, and they can cause an odor. The ?carcasses? he was referring to were the dead bacteria going through a UV because UV alone will not remove the dead bacteria from water. This is why we recommended final barrier filtration through a Reverse Osmosis System as it solves the issue of the smell and dead bacteria in your drinking water. The term ?carcasses? is used in labs to describe dead bacteria that have to be filtered out. We were using medical language to describe it, so we apologize if this felt misleading or came across negatively. This was not our intention, and we truly only want what?s best for our clients. Your health and quality of life is of the utmost importance, and we would never want to jeopardize that. We completely agree putting a plastic shed behind your home exposed, in an open field, to the elements isn?t something we would typically do; however, you don?t have a block well house like most homes, so the shed was the best option available, which you agreed to and approved before installation occurred. The shed is a Costco product of high quality for the price, but being exposed consistently to the elements and winds creates higher risk for damage. Moreover, we are greatly sorry for the damage caused by a wind storm."
