August 1, 2016      Our experience with On The Move Moving and Storage was the worst moving experience we?ve ever had! It was a disaster from start to finish.       We are not new moving. Including this most recent move, we have eight times in the past 18 years. Sometimes we use professional movers. Sometimes we did it ourselves. On The Move Moving and Storage broke, damaged and destroyed multiple times more than the other seven moves combined (A list is attached).   Don Watson was our initial contact. He underestimated our household contents. On the day of the move, the movers cloud not load everything on the truck. Another truck had to come the next day to pick up what cloud not be loaded the day before. Don Watson told us that because On The Move was storing our household items for a week before delivering them to the new house everything would be taken off the truck and loaded into a pad at the warehouse for safekeeping. Later, we were told by Heath Watson that nothing had been put in a pod. That everything had been stacked up in a corner of the warehouse. When the movers began to unload we were shocked by what we saw. Boxes were wet and falling apart. Some boxes were covered in mud. Other boxes were crushed, as if they had been jammed into holes that was too small.  We even found a boot print on a cast iron cooking griddle. In addition, On The Move even delivered something that doesn?t belong to us-a 5 foot long metal tube that attaches to a vacuum hose. On the floor end of the tube is an attachment used for sucking up water. As we began to unpack , dishes and glasses were broken. Crystal was shattered. Many other items were chipped and broke. We have pictures of it all. When Heath Watson came to assess the damage he said, ?there isn?t much we can do about that because you packed those things.? Well then, let?s talk about the things we did not pack, things we didn?t touch, things that were handled only by On The Move.
After Heath Watson?s initial visit, he sent an On The Move employee to our house to fix the damage. The employee arrived with a couple of stain markers. When he looked at everything he said, ? I?m not prepared for this. I?m not prepared for this at all.? The employee came back later and took to the warehouse the dining room table, the wood bed frame with the legs that had been removed, and the Total Gym bicycle unit. When the items were returned, the electronics box on Total gym had been corrected, the scratches on the dining room table were still there and the feet on the bed were wobbly and unusable. We chose not to let On The Move attempt anymore repairs.On The Move finally sent a check for damages, later than promised, based on the amount of insurance coverage we purchased. We assumed middle of the road coverage would be enough since we were using a professional mover. It wasn?t nearly enough. On The Move compensated us based on what they were legally required to do. Moral responsibility is another issue completely. The question I pose to On The Move is this ? is this the way you  would want your possessions handled and is this the resolution you would be happy with?

The move was very Painless from scheduling to moving / pick – up to unloading. The movers were courteous, the company. Communicate very well as this was a long distance more with lots of moving parts. Overall, I was pleased with the service.

On The Move gave us a fair estimate that was lower than the others. Communication was excellent throughout. The driver called us to let us know his status & the crew carefully packed & loaded the truck. Driver & crew were professionally dressed & treated our household goods like their own. Very nice people & the move went very smoothly.

Movers was on time and worked at an ok pace. They were friendly & professional throughout move. However, the owner greatly under estimated the cost (by 2 thousand dollars) ofthe move. Unacceptable. Will not use again or recommend.

It went great. They crew was very professional and helpful. They took care of all of our specific needs and offered helpful advice. 

Moving can be very stressful, but this company make it very stress free.

It did not go well. It was a twelve hour trip and I got my things in three different shipments and the rest of my things never made it. The stuff that I did receive was either scratched, dented or completely ruined. I called them several times and they refused to answer my calls and I also emailed them and they refused to answer those as well. It took 8 months to offer me any kind of resolution. Also, every time I called them they acted as if they did not know who I was, I truly have never been so poorly treated in my life. I would not recommend them for any kind of move to anyone.

Additionally, the claims process was delayed due to your financial institution charging back the original payment. Because of this, we were unable to process your claim following our standard procedure of 3-5 weeks. We hope that our measures to settle your claim and appease the situation were realized. When a claim is filed, we are subject to AMSA reimbursement standards of 1.25 p/lb (if no valuation coverage is purchased). In this particular case, no coverage was purchased, yet, we exceeded the AMSA standard in an attempt to rectify the situation. Again, we apologize for what occurred, and we want to satisfy every customer that chooses On the Move. Please let us know if we can do anything else."
