Maid Attendants

Let me start by saying I've never used a cleaning service before- I was always worried they would scam me out of money, or do a bad job or break my things. This was a Christmas treat from my boyfriend, and proved exactly every concern I had, right. They arrived for the deep clean service that's required your first time, and, after about 2 hours, notified me that I would be charged an additional $100 worth of fees for excessive dust and dog hair. I have a lab mix that has free roam of the house, so I authorized that and went back to work. The cleaner had to rush out before we could do a walk through (I'm assuming that's standard, usually, but I'm not sure). I noticed some areas that were totally missed right away. It felt more like a standard clean to me. I got a text asking how the service went, and I shared the photos. They said they would investigate and send the cleaner back. After a few failed attempts at sending me a follow-up text, they said they would email me, but I still haven't received anything. MORE troubling than the clean job, the upcharge and the bad service, though, was my realization that evening at bedtime that the TV screen in our bedroom was damaged. I sent off an email, pictures, and asked for a call the following day. Today, I received a call from a man who identified himself as the manager. He said he got my email, and his cleaner didn't touch my TV. I explained that they must have, because the screen was damaged. He said "Lindsay said she did not." I explained that I was charged an extra $100 for dust and dog hair, and nowhere on or around the TV had dust or dog hair. His response was "our cleaner noticed you purchased a new TV." I said "yes?" And he said "well all I'm saying is my cleaner never touched your TV..." (IMPORTANT NOTE: My boyfriend won that TV at his company Christmas party days ago, and can prove that pretty easily. The assumption we were being fraudulent was beyond offensive). TLDR; They came into my home, charged me $300 for an unimpressive clean job, an additional $100 for dust and dog hair, ghosted me, then broke [my distinctly un-dusty and un-dog haired] TV, then denied responsibility and accused me of commiting fraud. I now have a broken TV, a house I still need to clean, and I'm $400 poorer. I feel totally bamboozled and scammed. More than that, I've never been more offended! Worst idea, ever. All photos I included were taken after the $400 deep clean.

The poor rating is for the company coordinating the clean: Maid Attendants. For my second cleaning, they charged me for the initial cleaning again (triple the cost of the standard clean). Despite saying the issue had been fixed multiple times, they never fixed the overcharge. They also scheduled a random cleaning nowhere near my normal schedule and, when I missed the reminder text the night before, blamed me entirely and charged me for the cleaning anyway. Seems like a very shady company - be careful trying them. The cleaner was amazing though - she far exceeded my expectations. Very disappointing that she isn’t with a better company because I would love to continue using her services.

I want to preface this by saying that I have never hired a professional cleaning company before, so my experience may partly be due to my naivety. I also want to say that you should NEVER hire a cleaning company that agrees to clean your house (and takes your payment information over the phone) before seeing or setting foot in it. I hired this company for a deep clean a couple weeks ago and had the most bizarre and disappointing experience. After reading about everything included in the $275 deep clean on their website, I determined that it was the best route for me even if it was a little expensive. I spoke to a woman on the phone about booking them, and she kindly waived the $30 pet fee after I informed her that our two large Goldendoodles do not shed. I also want to make it clear that we have an 18-month-old baby, so there are some toys and books around the house. I clean and tidy regularly but rarely have time for deep cleaning, hence why I hired a professional. The cleaner arrived on time (9 AM) and got to work right away, and we left shortly after she got started. She did not ask me a single question aside from where the master bedroom and bathroom were. I informed her that there was some unfolded, clean laundry in our bedroom that she could move out of her way if she needed to, and she seemed more than fine with that. I also informed her that our dogs were shut in the basement, and she could let them upstairs or outside if she needed to get them out of her way to clean downstairs. She seemed more than fine with that as well, and I knew that she was not afraid of or uncomfortable dogs, as there was a large stray dog that happened to run up to her right as she was arriving, and she was petting it/seemed very concerned about it. I exchanged numbers with her and let her know that she could call or text me with any questions or concerns. I did not hear a single thing from her until she texted me at noon to tell me that she was finished. I’ve since learned that it would be almost impossible for a “deep clean” on a 1,300-square-foot house to be completed in that amount of time. I arrived home a few hours later and upon first glance the house seemed clean, but as I started to look closer it became clear that it was hardly a surface-level cleaning job. The microwave was untouched, the trash was left full in the kitchen, no windows or window sills were wiped down, no doors were wiped down, and not a single piece of furniture was moved so as to clean under/behind them. I brought this to the attention of what I assume is the owner via text, and she asked for photos (which I’ve included below). She informed me that the dogs were the reason that the trash wasn’t taken out (which I still can not connect in any way), she didn’t notice that there was a microwave (it is very visible as soon as you enter the house), the door frames are not included in the deep clean package (it clearly states that bathroom doors and door frames are included on their website), and windows are an extra $10 per window (which isn’t stated anywhere on their website, and frankly seems a little insane to me). She also mentioned that she had to pick up toys and books in our toddlers room, which she never mentioned being an issue until after the service was completed because she “didn’t want to bother me.” She texted me verbatim saying “The whole house is cluttered,” which was a blatant lie and seemed like one of many lame excuses she had for the sub par job she did. After receiving this text, I reached out to the owner via phone, and she reiterated everything she had texted me without budging. She informed me that I was fortunate that they didn’t charge me an extra $80 organization fee for having to pick up books and toys. She also informed me that if they sent the cleaner back to our house to finish the job she left, they would be forced to charge me this extra $80 fee. I’ve sat on this for a couple weeks because I wasn’t sure if I truly was at fault or not, but after gathering some outside opinions I feel the need to share this to prevent anyone else from wasting $275 and STILL having to deep clean your house yourself. I’ve included photos of our “deep cleaned” house shortly after the cleaner left, the text message from the owner after I reached out with my concerns, and screenshots of services included in their deep clean directly from their website. I would not recommend this cleaning company to anyone.

Maid Attendants is top notch! We have guests constantly in and out of our office and it can get messy quick. Olga with Maid Attendants is always on time and does such an amazing job. Every time she leaves I’m amazed at how clean and organized the office is. Would highly recommend for all your cleaning services. A++++

Great cleaning service! I have some mobility issues keeping me from cleaning my home as I would like to so I finally decided to have someone help me and boy am I glad I chose them. I contacted them Thursday and had a Saturday appointment no problem and when I walked in my front door it was spotlessly clean especially my shower. I don't want to use my kitchen because it looks that good.

Everything went well. They were very detailed, they did a great job, and I'll definitely hire them again for future jobs.

What an experience!! I was so stressed out this move-out. They made my booking easy and quick. The cleaners that came out were professional and so detailed in the cleaning, it was worth more than what we paid. I will be using them for our next home and highly recommend.
