We intend to buy a 2012 Honda CR-V from another Knoxville Honda dealer, we test-drove the car and then determined to do a pre-purchase inspection since it cost more than $20,000 and that is a big money for us. We called West side honda, and we are able to have the inspection the same day, which is good.
We drove to West Side Honda service department and give the car key to Mary. We waited for about 30 minutes to get the report. The report is in details, they checked lights, wiper insert, suspicion, drive axles/boots, AC & heating, exhausts system hoses drive belts, air filter fuel system battery, battery fluid leaks engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, engine coolant, cabin filter. They also checked the tire and brakes. No issues are found.

Jason Raser did an outstanding job, provided up front price, gave us a fair trade for our old car and had us out the door hassel free.

We had a completely awful experience at AutoNation Honda (formerly West Side). It seems that AutoNation completely forgot the first rule of sales, and quot;People buy from people they LIKE.and quot; They could also learn from Anheuser-Busch's motto - Making Friends is Our Business.
Our salesperson was Adrian. My daugher and son-in-law are newlyweds in their 20's buying their first new car, so I was just advising. They first thought they wanted a Honda CRV LX and found one they liked. I advised them to sleep on it and shop around since there are 3 Honda dealers in Knoxville. This agitated Adrian greatly. This was Wednesday. We went back on Friday. In the meantime, the kids had decided to upgrade to an E-XL. You would think Adrian would be happy to sell a more expensive vehicle, but he was very unhappy. He said they had already pulled the LX off the lot and cleaned it up, but we actually saw it still on the lot and it had not been washed. In the negotiations, Adrian told my son-in-law that he could not do math. My son-in-law has a degree in Bio Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, so he can do math quite well. It went downhill from there - Adrian was very contentious - making us all uncomfortable. I have purcased quite a few cars in my lifetime and I have never had a more unpleasant experience - I couldn't wait to leave! This story does have a happy ending however. The kids left AutoNation, went to Airport Honda, found the perfect Honda CRV E-XL, along with a pleasant salesman and had a terrific buying experience at Airport Honda.

We looked at the reviews of this company on AngiesList and saw that one reviewer had a good experience and one did not. Based on that, we followed the example in the good experience by requesting an e-quote on the car we wanted. We promptly received an email with the specific details of the car (including VIN#, etc.) and the exact price they wanted for it. They offered to give quotes on other cars (if, for example we wanted a different color). Because we were financing through our credit union, we were able to call the credit union with the specific information so they could approve the purchase before we even went to the dealership. This eliminated any negotiating or haggling over the car price and details like add-ons. And West Side Honda gave us a price below MSRP for a brand-new car. We expected that when we arrived at the dealership there might be some gamesmanship about the price of the car, but there was not. The only negotiating we had to do was over the value of our trade-in, and they even gave a range estimate for the trade-in over email so we had a starting point for that before we got there. Of course they tried to lowball us on the trade-in (that's to be expected) but we stuck to our guns and got the price we wanted on that. Even that negotiation was relatively painless compared to some other nightmare experiences we have had at dealerships in the past. We made sure we were ready/willing to walk without the new car if we had to, and that gave us a lot of power in the negotiation.Once that was settled, it was just a matter of the time required to complete the paperwork and get our financing set up with our credit union. They did mention to us that they might be able to beat the interest rate we already had at our credit union, but it turned out not to be the case and they did not argue with us about it. They also did not pressure us to buy extra warranties, etc from the dealership (which has happened to us in the past)--when we said we didn't want the extras, they just said okay and moved on.All in all it was a fabulous experience and we are thrilled with the car we got! My advice to other potential buyers is to do your research in advance so you know what is a reasonable price and then DEFINITELY use the equote service so you have the price nailed down before you get there.

They are good and they do what they say. I like them. They always mark it on the car when you get an oil change done, so you can get back after three months. I need to take my car there again in this month. In October of 2010, I spent about $136.50 for an oil change, lube and filter work. If you prepay for 3 or 4 oil changes, you get the fourth one free. They are pretty reasonable. They do what they are supposed to do. They fix the cars and I only take my car to the dealer. They do a good job. They work with you and they are very customer oriented. Their shop is immaculate. All the Honda shops are like that and they remodel the shops, which looks beautiful. The mechanics are good. They will explain to you what they are going to do. They will come out and tell you if they find anything else wrong. They will tell you what they found and they will also tell you not to worry. They don't push you for repairs. They will tell you to think about getting the work done when you go there the next time. When my tires were getting old, they told me that I had some amount of tires left, but they also asked me to think about it when I went there the next time. I get everything from them including my tires. I only use Michelin tires. My car looks as good as it was when I got it. West Side Honda also does the detailing on the cars if you want it. I have a big cover to keep the trunk area on my car clean. So, when they did the detailing on my CR-V a few years ago, somehow that got lost. They said they were sorry since they lost it and they bought me a new one. I thought that was really nice. They do the auto detailing whenever you want them to. They usually give you a free car wash when you take it there. It's not a great car wash. The detailing is only $100. It would be like $30 or $40 by the time you take the car to a cheap car place, but they will get the whole thing done if you pay another $50 or $60. Their price doesn't seem to be outrageous to me and I am on a retired income. If I have to leave my car at their shop when they can't get the work done in an hour or so, they will bring me home. Then they will come and get me to go pick up my car. So, I think that's pretty responsive and I think they have a radius, but I don't know what the radius is. It might be like 10 miles, but they will come and get me. If I don't want to wait in case of 3 or 4 hours for a major thing, they always ask me if I would want to wait or if I want them to take me home. So, I ask them to take me home and then they come get me. Their punctuality is good. When you pull in, the guys are always right there on the left hand side and they take all your information. They have everything in the computer, so they know what was done before. They can look right up in the computer to find out when the work was done or the tires were changed. They will have your whole history. They are excellent. I love West Side Honda. I would definitely use their services in the future too. In fact, they are the only ones I go to. I have never taken my car to anyone else here. I was pleased when I moved here since West Side Honda is just as good as the other auto shop I used to go to. They really are outstanding and they do an excellent job for me. Anytime I have ever taken my car to them, they have been able to do whatever was needed. They took my car around when it was making some noise, but it made the same noise for them. Whatever it was, they fixed it. I have had the car forever and it's a good car. I think Honda in general makes pretty good cars.

I have been to several car dealerships in and around Knoxville and have minor issues with only a few. My experience at West Side Honda was by far the worst. Not only did the dealership try to add dealer installed incentives in the price of the car, they were incentives that I specifically asked to be removed. They refused to take them off the price even though they were easily removable and again something that I did not want. By far the experience with the salesmen at the dealership was not that bad. However, once one salesman had already dealt with you the others were hesitant to help you even if the first salesman was busy. Multiple times I would stop by and the first salesmen who had helped me had 2-3 customers waiting in front of me. I for one, do not have time to sit around for hours when all I want to do is take a look at the car again that I am interested in. I understand they are trying to protect their commissions. However, it comes across as very unprofessional when you act irritated you have to help someone just because you are not getting a commission out of it. I experienced this over the phone as well when I had a simple question that any member of the salesteam could have answered. Reluctance to help me. A customer should feel that a salesteam is just that. A team. A customer should feel good walking out of a place of business regardless if they bought a car or not. If you want repeat business it's common sense that you treat someone with respect and courtesy even after a negotiation does not go the way you want it. I received a MUCH cheaper quote on both edmunds, carsdirect, USAA, and multiple other dealerships. This dealership refused to back down. And when all was said and done they walked off without a word edgewise. No "Well, I'm sorry things are not working out to your liking but should you change your mind please feel free to come back." They just walked off without a word which was very awkward and very RUDE. That is not good customer service. A customer should never feel they are inconveniencing an employee. In sum, I walked out feeling as if they could care less about me as a customer and all they cared about was their commissions. I also do not understand how this company has ALL A's on Angie's List when on Google, Yahoo and MSn practically every score they have is an F and you can tell they are legitimate complaints.

I bought my car in 1997 and it is still running and I only take it to West Side Honda. They are honest, reliable, nice guys who work with you and always get you in if you have a problem. Their service is excellent and they come out and tell you how long it'll be and let you either go home or wait for your car. They'll also come and pick you up and take you home if you don't want to wait but don't have a ride. They also tell if you if problems need to be taken care of or if it can wait. They don't pressure you.

This was my second attempt to purchase a new car... I knew exactly what I wanted (a Pearl Blue Honda Fit Sport) and the first dealership I'd visited had pushed hard to "sell" me while simultaneously being circumspect about the actual purchase price, details of financing, and cost of service/warranty options. West Side in contrast was totally no pressure and up front throughout the process. I felt I could have spent hours there without purchasing and they would have been happy. My salesman recognized I knew what I wanted and what I was willing to pay. They made the first offer and my first counter offer was accepted. I was guided through the rest of the process with my questions being answered forthrightly by everyone I encountered. Fees, service/warranty options, etc all came with detailed explanations that started with a "total cost for this item". I never felt like they tried to pull a fast one on me... I felt I knew what I was buying and I know I understood the cost. The finance guy there let me do some math of my own and helped me think through things the way I wanted to. In the end it just felt good. I wasn't trading in my current vehicle, and while it may be small, the topper for me was that the salesman followed me home to drop off my current vehicle and then drove me back while the service department was inspecting the vehicle before giving it to me. That little service to help me out was really something that made an impression on me. If you know you want a Honda and you want a pain free and clear purchasing experience, then I highly recommend West Side.

2004 Honda Element had a drive train shutter at certain speeds. Wheel balance did not correct it. Took it to a non dealer repair first and spent $200 on a motor mount. Problem continued. West Side Honda diagnosed the problem immediately and repaired it properly. Two axles required on front end. It is never cheap, but this is the place to take your Honda. A little disappointed in the reliability of the Element which is not as good as our Accord.

Went well. The guy I dropped the car off was a bit unpolished in the customer service department, and I *always* have to call to ask if my car is ready (they don't call to tell me that it's done -- or better yet, that it will be done in ~20 minutes), but other wise fine.

Technician evaluated the problem, ran several tests on the radiator and thermostat. Problem was sticking thermostat. Thermostat replaced, end of problem. Some other technicians at other dealers suggested leaking head gasket. That would have been very expensive.

As a result of the tune-up, our mileage has increased about 10-15%! Both of the repairs were successful. We took a 3,000 mile vacation just recently and the CR-V performed flawlessly!

My engine light came on so I took it to the Honda dealership first. They told me that I needed a new transmission so I decided to at least get some estimates around town before I went with the dealership. Took it to 2 separate places and received quotes higher and a shorter warranty than the dealership. One shop even told me I was best to go to the dealership because they could do it for a better price. So I went with Honda and they completed the work in less than 24 hours. Very friendly service and they even provided a shuttle service home and picked me up the next day (with 2 kids in tow). Very impressed with service!

All of the Hondas we have owned were serviced at West Side. They have a great deal of experience in all the types of problems that tend to occur on theses vehicles, and they only need to fix it once. If we need transportation to and from their location they are willing to provide it. Our Prelude was repaired in one day, and the car ran well after that.

West side has performed well for us every time we have gone there for service. They are a little more expensive than most service businesses, but they stand by their work, and so far have not let us down. The battery replacement was of high quality, and the alternator was the main reason we had to jump the battery so often. After those two items were replaced, we no longer had any problems with it. It was done very quickly, while we waited, as well.
