THE VISITING VET

Veterinarians,

About us

House calls are based on mileage calculated from our home base in south Knoxville. We offer a more personalized approach to veterinary medicine by coming to your home. Patients tend to be more at ease in his/her own surroundings thus reducing stress for both owner and pet.

Services we offer

Our services include yearly examinations and vaccinations, heartworm testing, complete bloodwork, hospice, in-home euthanasia, and cremation. We supply flea, tick and heartworm preventatives as well as antibiotics and pain meds. The Visiting Vet is known for working with feral and hard to handle cats and dogs.

Dr Moody is wonderful. She is so great with my cats. So nice to have a vet who makes house calls. My cat doesn't like to be picked up so hard to take to vet. My cat had multiple treatments including shots and laser treatment on her gums.

We always appreciate the care Dr. Bea gives our fur babies. Her at-home services help immensely because one of us is disabled and trying to catch, crate, transport conveyance to the car and wrestle with  logistics when we go to a vet's office is a tremendous burden.

Two are 16 years old and two are 6 years old. I have found that visits to a vet's office are too stressful for both family and pets, as there is the worry of them getting loose and they don't like the car ride etc. which sometimes leads to bad events afterwards.
Dr Bea and her staff member came and took care of business. The older ones had blood work done. The visit went very smoothly. None of the cats got stressed out, so  there were no problems afterwards. They even approached Dr Bea and snuggled up with her on the floor.
The cost was what I expected. Bloodwork the most expensive part as it goes to UT. Results back the next day or so. However, it was necessary as the girls haven't had a checkup in the last. year or so.
Visit is based on mileage, but an office visit is usually $25.00 or more per pet, so the $67.00 was still reasonable, as I did not have to leave the comfort of my home. Then each cat has a checkup cost. Still well within what I have paid at the vet clinic.

Mercifully it was sudden. That morning he began coughing and had trouble
walking to go outside, staggering somewhat. When he came back in and got
back in bed, I spooned behind him until he stopped shivering for about a
half hour, then he went to sleep. When we got up again a couple hours
later, he staggered outside again, went weewee, then came in and laid on
their couch. (yes, my dogs have their own couch) He could not get up
again after that and would not eat or drink. Dr. Bea came and said he
was not going to get up again in her professional assessment and that it
was apparent the couple times he propped up on his elbows for 3 seconds
and flopped back down on his side that he just didn't have the strength
anymore. His gums were bright red, a bad sign. He had a fever. After
much prayer and many hugs and kisses Yah took him home with an assist
from kind and compassionate Dr. Bea.
She has been my vet since about 2004 and also supported me when my Black Lab, Grrrl, had to be put down 3 years ago on New Year's Day. Even though she and her husband were on their way home from a long trip out of town when I called her that time, she answered and coached me and promised to be there as soon as she got back a couple hours later, which she did! She is a true one of a kind vet and to top it all off, she loves YHWH! HalleluYah!

Dr. Bea showed up right on time with an able assistant and a truck loaded with everything she needed to perform every task. She was able to weigh my dog (brought her own scales), examine him from top to bottom, express an impacted anal gland, take a stool sample for analysis, and draw the necessary blood to complete the battery of tests that I had requested. She took a medical history of my do and pictures of him from various angles for her files. She was kind, knowledgeable and totally professional. She has responded quickly to me with results from the tests and continues to work with me on a very baffling health issue for my dog. I feel that I have found a partner and not a dictator in the healthcare of my animals. THANKS Dr. Bea!

The cat had died when she arrived. She was extremely caring and helpful in cleaning the area and taking the cat for burial. "Compassionate" describes Dr. Bea. She made an extremely sad occasion more tolerable. She could not help the cat, so she helped me.

Dr. Bea was an absolute angel. My cat had been under the weather and I didn't want to add to his stress with a car trip to a clinic (he absolutely hates those). Two different friends recommended her as a vet that still did house calls. She and her technician came the same day that I called and were absolutely fantastic. I would 100% recommend her/them to anyone else.

Dr. Bea Moody was recommended to us by a friend who knew that we were going through the heart wrenching experience of trying to decide when it was time for our 14 year old chocolate lab to go to heaven. When we finally had the courage to make the decision we called Dr. Bea. We had never spoken with her prior to that day and yet she made the time to come to our house that very evening. She was so kind and caring. She petted and loved on Mattie as if she were her own. While it was still heart breaking, she turned what could have been a horrible experience into a very sweet and special time for me, my husband and our precious pup. Her caring and compassion touched us all. It truly could not have been any better. She also took our baby to be cremated and later brought her ashes to us.
I highly recommend Dr. Bea to anyone that loves their pet. She is the best!!!!

I have known Dr. Bea for ten years and she has performed many in-home visits for my small pack of 4 legged animals I have had throughout the years. With the multiple pets I have had it was always the best way to attend regular vetting and testing for routine care. For specialized needs and urgent care Dr. Bea has always responded professionally and promptly. I cannot recommend her enough for her personalized in home visits. She will even draw blood for tests and personally submit to labs. She can supply all medications that are necessary. The pets respond very well to Dr. Bea, including my particular chow-mix (he is now a 12 + senior dog) who in years past did not respond well at all to outside visitors. He liked Dr. Bea from the very first visit when he was a prime alpha dog full of adrenalin and vinegar. You will be amazed by Dr. Bea's skills and demeanor.

We finally came to horrible decision that the time had come for Max to go to the big doghouse. It was not easy but Dr. Moody made it a lot easier.

She showed up when she said she would (rare these days) and talked with Max and us about the process. She was so kind with him and us. When we were ready she did what needed to be done.

It is obvious that Dr. Moody cares about animals. It is also obvious that she cares about animal owners. She was nothing but considerate and kind.
Once before I had to do this. I took the dog to the vet and said goodbye. I think this was a better way to do it. He got to be home, go to sleep to chase rabbits, and we got to say goodbye properly. When the time comes to get another dog. It is a good possibility that Dr. Moody may become our regular vet.

Thank you Bea.

Dr. Bea always tries to accomodate my schedule, coming after work hours if needed. We have been dog owners for 40 years - Dr. Bea is the most caring vet we have ever had.

Bea Moody is her name. She came to my home to service my pet. She will service dogs, cats or any large animal that can't be brought into an office like equine horses. I have referred her to a couple of my friends who have used her.
