I should first start off by saying, I have very thick, long hair and most hair stylists are overwhelmed with the amount of hair; definitely not the case with Genevia!

Genevia is a master of hair; she's always precise, listens and I come out looking fabulous every time! She is incredibly professional and I always have a positive experience. She's actually the only hair stylist I've ever been to where I don't cry afterwards from the amount of hair that's been chopped off.

She is an honest stylist and never, ever tries to push any products on you. She doesn't fall into the hype that a lot of these hair stylists do. She will tell you her opinion if you ask and help you decide whether it's beneficial to your hair or not.

I definitely recommend Genevia, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Over a year ago my hair stylist quit working and I was left to find a new one. One of the most difficult things to do is to find a new hair stylist. I decided to call Salon 1551 and Darrell James answered the phone. He had a cancellation and had an opening that afternoon so I took it. I was scared about letting someone new do my hair, but I need not have been afraid, he is awesome! Not only did he talk me through what he was going to do but he explained that my hair was in need of some TLC and he was going to work with me to get it back in good shape. Well he was telling the truth. After letting Darrell take care of my hair for a few months my hair was so much healthier! He is a true professional and knows what he is doing. I asked him once if he liked his job and he said and quot;I adore my joband quot;, and it shows. Not only do I love Darrell, but all of the other stylists in the shop are so friendly, very different from any other salon I've gone to. I love going to the salon now!! Salon 1551 Rocks!!! Darrell James is fantastic!!

We have recently moved to Knoxville. I located Salon 1551 on April's List. I was able to schedule an appointment within a few days of my call. Darryl was terrific. He did a great job on my cut and color. He is friendly but professional. I scheduled my next appointment before leaving the salon the first time he did my hair.

I walked in a few minutes before my appointment. I saw a few people up front and thought they were all children waiting for their mothers to finish. One and quot;teenand quot; walked away from the others and behind the counter and asked for my name ..I told her and she stated and quot;oh, you are here to see me, I'm Randiand quot; .. color me surprised! I was sitting in the chair a few seconds later and she looked at me with interest and asked what I would like done. She not only listened, she heard me.
I told Randi that I had a few bad experiences from hair stylists that did not listen to me and that I just wanted a trim and the gray gone from my hair. I am and quot;color challengedand quot; and had asked a friend to meet me there to help with the color I needed. Randi showed my friend her suggestions of the base and highlight colors and she and quot;nailedand quot; it (according to my friend).
After it was all said and done, Randi had given me the perfect color, the perfect trim and I was very impressed.
Randi Powell at Studio 1551 is FANTASTIC! And, despite Randi's youthful appearance, she is very capable and has many, many years of experience.

Salon 1551 deserves an A in every category. They are great. I have used them for about 6 years.

With the tip and everything I spent about $105 on that service. The stylist I use is Bill James and he just moved to this saloon.
