About us
Contact Roofing by RLI at (865) 670-7663 in Knoxville, TN, for a roofing contractor handling shingles, gutters, sky lights, roof replacements and repairs. Roofing By RLI is committed to providing the best products and workmanship to our customers. We back all of our roofs with a written warranty, not just a line on a website that says we stand behind our work. Because we have factory trained and manufacturer authorized installers, we can even offer extended manufacturer warranties. Ask about the warranty on the products you’re offered before you make a decision on the type of roof you want. Be sure you understand how each warranty works for you and against you. Understand the difference in a “true” warranty and “prorated” warranty from the manufacturer and don’t be fooled by a so called “Lifetime Warranty.” A true “Lifetime Warranty” is not “prorated” at any time during the warranty period.

Since the warranty is held by a second party, and has been sold since the original work was done, finding who I am supposed to call to report these leaks takes days. The last person I talked to at RSA said NONE of the prior work/complaints had transferred over to their company so there is no record with the current warranty company concerning the issues I've had.
On 12/29, I spoke to someone at RSA and they are trying to get a contractor to my home to look a the leak and repair. I also called RLI and left a message concerning the leak. The owner, Steve Holley, came to my home the afternoon of 12/29 and fixed the gutters and sent a crew the next day to reinforce what he had done. He also came back and worked on the area that was leaking. He has been responsive and helpful and that has made this episode much easier for me. I finally feel like someone genuinely wants this fixed . It will be a while before we know for certain the repair has fixed the leak (need more rain) but I am hopeful this will correct all the problems I've had.
everyone was friendly and considerate and cleaned up each day
punch list were handled promptly
Workers here on time
Kept to schedule
alerted us to problems and extra cost
added radiant barrier at our request
Cleaned up very well - only found 4-5 nails
When they did the roof, the foreman found several things that had been done incorrectly before and they were very patient in waiting for me to decide what to do about it. very patient.....because it took me a while.
They worked quickly and I was impressed with the workers and felt very safe around them.
When they did the gutters, we had to replace some of the fascia (?) board and they let us do that ourselves to save money and they were willing to come back a different day to finish up to give us time to get that completed.
They worked with our insurance company by submitting all claims, and when the mortgage company insisted on signatures and paperwork from them and us, they took care of all of that for us.
I loved working with them and would hire them again if I need to.
It was nice that they allowed me to pay with a credit card.
After the roof and gutter replacement work was finished, Jim Blair contacted me and said he would like to close out this aspect of the work before the end of the calendar year 2011. We met and I agreed to pay him for this portion of the work. He accepted a check on 12/15/11 and said that RLI would complete the remainder of the work aforedescribed after January 1, 2012, as the weather permitted. The statement from RLI that he gave me also contained the statement at the bottom that and quot; These amounts are for workcompleted thru 12/15/11. The balance of the work to be completed in the Spring.and quot;
Since the time I made th 12/15/11 payment to RLI, none of the afore described additional work has been done. After repeatedattempts to to contact Jim Blair by phone without success, I finally reached him one time on his cell phone in late February when he told me he would be out the next week to schedule completion of the work. He didn't show up and I have not heard another word from him or anyone at RLI, despite repeated calls to both him and the RLI office. I have numerous left messages requesting a return call on Jim Blair's cell phone and have also left messages with his office asking that he contact me. As of this date (May 24,2012) I have not received the courtesy of one call from anyone, nor has anyone begun the additional work. This has to be the worst example of customer service that one can experience.
"The customer had several shrubs that were unfortunately damaged by our installation. We replaced all the shrubs he requested with shrubs he chose at the local nursery at no expense to him. We also compensated the customer for his inconvenience by installing new gutter guards on his entire house at no charge. He did have a leak at his roof that we responded to. We went to the customer's immediately and called the day we came out to inspect for his leak. The customer was not home at the time of the inspection. The leak was caused by split cedar siding where the garage roof meets the main house wall. We repaired the siding for him at no charge and have not heard from him since the occurrence. Unfortunately, the customer's daughter may have been missed in the estimate process due to the high call volume. We apologize for the inconvenience."
