Probably the worst service provider experience I have ever had.  Bottom line : the customer pays for Chris Silva's extremely poor time and resource management.  He admitted to damaging my garage, saying it "doesn't matter" since my garage is "as old as the hills".  He also defended his gouging me for $500 to take down a tree that three other companies would do for $200, saying he "works hard" and "has kids".  I realize now he had neither the equipment nor the skills to complete the job, and I'm lucky to have fired him after the first day
Response from RED'S TREE SERVICE
"We regret the experience that this customer had at that time with our company. We try at all times to meet the needs of our clientele. But we also realize there are times that we fall short. And therefore we work hard every day to improve our customers experiences. Without disputing the facts, reality is that there are days that you aren't at your best. We hope that Maybe in the future there will be an opportunity for them to have a better experience with our company."

They were absolute wonderful, excellent work! He called me right back after my call and did the work 2 days later. It was a difficult job, and he spent an hour on my roof. He was very professional and had professional equipment. We also used him after another storm that took out our power lines. The utility companies left a mess that he came out and took care of right away. Both experiences were just great. The price was more than reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Red's came out and got me quick estimate for the requested work. The estimate was prompt, a good price and Chris seemed to know what he was talking about. I scheduled the work about a week later and they were out there as promised on time and completed the work as described and on budget and price. Very Satisfied. Highly Reccomend and will use again!

Good job! Called RED'S Tree Service late afternoon, had quote next morning. Larger, more dangerous tree  was between house, dogwoods, shrubs & electric lines. An arborist, Chris pointed out where he needed to be careful - price $100+ more than another crew, but included bucket truck.
Next day texted when he would arrive,  emailed & brought copy of insurance, used safety gear, & took locust tree down in pieces that could be split for firewood.  Helper Kyle made 3 piles by road.  While up,  Chris cut a branch from another tree too near roof  as varmint prevention, after asking for OK.  Took 2d tree down in backyard, saving sapling & shrubs on either side.
Neat, quick, perfect job! Neighbor & I agreed he seemed to know what he was doing.  Will use again.

Not very good. Because of just having heard of the death & funeral arrangements of a dear friend, I was not as vigilant as I should have been. I allowed the work to start even though a I did not have the written list of work to be done. They were to arrive at 10am & were late, so I could not get the personal errands started so that I could attend the funeral. I was a bit non-plussed & in too much of a hurry. I was told about all the extra work that was to be done by Mr. Silva in order to compete with the other estimators I had contacted. But the work was not completed as promised. I was told I would get a list of services to be provided but was not. At the end of all this mess, he told me he wanted me to see that written estimate, to prove HE was in the right, but instead he drove away. The second tree was to be removed because of a split in a main branch of the tree. He said he could save part of the main trunk & I agreed that the idea of leaving as much as possible was acceptable. Only the smaller limbs were removed-no trunk branch work was done. The split part of the trunk branch remains. Of the front yard tree, none of the larger pieces were cut so that I could carry them. Even many of the 'size of limbs' that HE said he would cut were not cut into 18" pieces. My front yard is full of huge tree chunks that I will have to hire someone ELSE to cut into manageable sizes. Plus, the flower beds were not totally cleaned out of weeds-not even the poison ivy & oak that had been my main concern & specific request. His response was that he was in the tree business not the weeding business. Yet it was HE that had volunteered his crew to do this service, I had not asked but was glad to add that to this list of work to be performed. Toward late afternoon, when it looked as though he was getting ready to leave, I spoke to him about the remainder of the work that had to be done and that he had said on several occasions that WOULD be done. It was at this time he became belligerent & began screaming at me that I would not try to cheat him, that he was a family man & I would not take advantage of him, & comments such as this. At one point, I went into my house in the hopes he would calm. It was VERY unpleasant. I realize that I was distracted & should not have allowed the work to start until I had the written work order, but his actions were uncalled for & extremely frightening, especially to an older, single women, as I am. I did not pay him what he expected but did pay him $100 more than the amount we had agreed to originally on the phone. I am a bit uneasy that I will find my car vandalized or some such actions since he lost his temper so fast & became quite enraged. I wish to prevent this from happening to anyone else, but especially I do not wish other women to be exposed to this kind of behavior or expense for unfinished work. Thank you. Sincerely, Keith H. Dolder.
