We are in the middle of trying to get rid of our carpet because it is 8 years old, so you know it is going to have stains and all that stuff. It is not the greatest carpet in the world, but it is not like it has every single part of it has a stain. We had one part that the kids had completely wrecked, and they had popsicle stains and all of that kind of stuff. We came in and we were like we want to replace all of this with hardwood flooring. The Lowes people, Service Master, came in and said that I lived in a hoarder’s home and that they would not do it. It was really embarrassing. I had a lot of stuff in there but we had promised that we get it ready for them, they wouldn’t have to do a thing, and they still refused to do the job. We got someone else in to do it, and he did it, and it looks great now. We had been trying to replace the carpet because with kids and a dog the carpet just doesn’t hold up. We did have a lot of stuff in it, but we did what we told the guy. He came in, everything had been removed, and all he had to do was the floor and rip up the carpet. He could tell it was popsicle stains, and stuff like that. The Lowe’s guy said my dog had gone in there and menstruated, but my dog is a male, then he said I was in a hoarder’s house. One of the things I didn’t understand is that he came upstairs to do a measurement for us, and we have this old Halloween thing that is a skeleton beagle, and he thought it was a real dead dog. They charged us the money, and they wouldn’t give us back our fee for the measure because they were so much in the right. They just didn’t want to move any of the furniture. It was absolutely crazy. They were very unprofessional, and that guy was such a dork for thinking that was a real dead dog. Lowe’s goes through Service Master and that’s why they get too many jobs I guess because they go through them. I do not think I will ever go through Lowe’s again

Shopping for the carpet went fine.  The sales staff was helpful.  The price seemed competitive.  The product appeared good (one of their best and most expensive lines).  We were finishing our basement and needed carpet and pad for over the concrete slab in our rec room, a bedroom and a study as well as a closet under the stairs.  We paid for measuring and chose the laying format requiring a few extra square feet of carpet - no big deal as it was less than $100 more.  The price for that was about $7,200. 

Installation seemed to go smoothly.  We had a couple of areas that needed small adjustments and the installers took care of that beautifully before they left.  However, we were shocked when we saw how much extra carpet remained at the end of the job - a huge amount that was sufficient to carpet a rather large master bedroom!  We had paid for all that carpet, based on Lowe's measurements, and they had overestimated big time.  Just no excuse for such a measuring miscue.  I had heard complaints of Lowe's overestimating carpet needs, but this was beyond ridiculous.  Not wanting to waste that amount of carpeting, we went back to Lowe's and paid another $1,300 for padding and install of the extra carpet in our master bedroom (along with some extra carpet for the walk in closets).  I am giving price a "C" because of all the unnecessary carpet we had to buy for the basement.

Meanwhile, we had found out that while the original installers had taken off the doors before carpeting the basement, they had failed to do so with the pocket door, which was in its pocket in the wall and could no longer come out due to the carpeting.  The new installers had no suggestion for removing the door, so I called Lowe's installation.  The woman told me she would get in touch with the owner of the carpet installation company and he would call me back.  No response back thereafter.  So customer care after the install is buyer beware.

I have never given this low a review before on Angie's List, but it is one I believe is well deserved.

There were no dislikes. There were no issues. It was just a very nice experience. The gentleman that installed was on time. He stayed late to accomplish the project. Responsiveness and professionalism were very good.

It was terrible! I wanted to take the bathtub liner out and I wanted to put a stand-up shower in there. In my opinion it should have been less than or around $1,000. They wanted to charge me close to $4500. I paid $12,000 for the unit that the mobile home has used. That is half the price of the entire unit. I just thought that it was way out of price and the lady was really rude. She came in and looked at the mobile home. People look down on me. I live in a very nice community. It is not your typical. It was built around the idea of the prototype elderly place. I am 63 and it is a retirement home. When I called, I expected Lowe's to send a Lowe's person out here to give me an estimate. I was not expecting a third party to come out here. I am just really distraught over the fact that nobody wants to work on a mobile home. The project is smaller so that is the way it is. They don't want to do work. I was not even expecting them to third party me. It was a blind sided call. It was bad customer service to me. The price was 4 times of what I was expecting. She was a little bit professional but she was also a little bit uppity about me living in a mobile home. It is a functional place to live in. I don't have the money to live in a 300,000 house. I am retired on social security. They responded well. It was really quick. It was just that it wasn't Lowe's. They were right within the window of what they said they were going to be. They did what they said they were going to do. I shop at Lowe's, but I would not use them as a contractor. I would not waste my time with them trying to get an estimate or trying to do inside work.

We really like Lowe's. Their associates are always so friendly and helpful. We often order online and then pick up at the store and they are always ready with our order and ready to help load. We do a lot of business with them and have found them to be a wonderful source of information, expertise and assistance. Last year one of their associates spent a great deal of time trying to find a set of tables we wanted and he kept in touch with us by phone. He found one last set left in the US and had them sent to our home. Highly recommened !!!

We needed to purchase paint that would match the paint in our 14-year old home. Unfortunately, the company that made the existing paint was no longer in business, and paint samples from other companies did not match our paint color. We were able to take a sample of the paint to Lowe's, and the employees there scanned the paint color using their equipment. The resulting paint was an exact match. The employees were very helpful and professional. We would definitely recommend Lowe's for this service.

We placed a large order for chain link fence materials. Delivery was prompt and pricing was better than Home Depot. There were minor shortages but they corrected them promptly. Very friendly service.

They have the GE Reveal light bulbs than the other suppliers around town. They have wide isles and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's more self service but there's enough people that can help you.

Workmanship was very good.
some of the windows were not the right size and/or damaged on arrival on site and were reordered.
The only downside was the length of time for the project to be completed.
The salesman put me in touch with the local energy company to have an inspection done before and after the installation, and then filed all the paperwork for me to obtain a $500 energy rebate. Being new to the area, I was not aware of the program and was particularly happy with his help.

replaced roofing down to bare wood. replaced some roofing boards that had been cracked by falling trees or limbs at an unknown date. later had 4 custom windows made and installed to fit very old window frames, had very tall and wide multipane door made and installed. roofing job was done in one day including clean up. windows and door were completed in one day including clean up and touch up. great experience! pluss customer rep contacted us the day after completion to ensure satisfaction with job. I will be using lowes again for 8 more windows to complete my project.

The experience was favorable. We had no problems. The installation was done well. They worked well. They did when they said they were going to do it.

It's a great place. Their price is the same with the other company it only depends on what brand I am going after.

Overall, the keys that I had cut 3 separate times at Lowes never did work, and they had no real advice on why. Returned the keys and used a locksmith instead.
