Lisa Darnell

Lisa mowed the front, back and sides of our lawn. She used a weed wacker on the edges of the lawn. She was very prompt and showed up when she was supposed to. She was diligent and trustworthy, always turning up when she said she would. We will hopefully use her service next summer.

Apparently her idea of new flowerbeds is putting mulch over the existing lawn.  There were several places I removed the mulch and underneath the lawn was still there intact.  I questioned it and was told first that she wasn't hired to do all the areas I requested and the second time I was told "people are always pulling grass from flowerbeds."  After completion, I gave up and removed several areas of mulch and dug out the lawn myself and replaced the mulch.  She pruned several shrubs and they look like she did it with an old chainsaw.  My shrubs in front of my home still have not recovered and I'm going to do a lot of drastic pruning this year and a lot of praying and hope they will recover.  As to the shrubs and debris she was hired to remove, one pile was moved back several feet but not removed.  The two dead shrubs she told me one was tangled in my fence (so??  untangle it!!) and it was left.  The other she told me was too heavy for her to move but at no time did she bring anyone back to help move it.  I paid for all the work, but some was done poorly and some not at all.  Never would I hire her back again.  She did do  a good job mulching and put down an adequate amount.  The only person she brought who seemed to really be caring and competent was her assistant who moved my bulbs into the newly created beds.  That person was very meticulous and did great work.

She did not work out because she liked to do yard work better than house work. She had someone working for her. She didn't actually do any work except she partially cleaned the carpet for me. That was really not satisfactory. Her friend that worked for me did a pretty good job. She was here for about six to eight months. She was in the hospital and then she said that she was going back home. She was satisfactory most of the time that she came. One visit, she stayed only for a couple of hours but I still paid her more than she asked for; I gave her additional $15. She was here during Christmas and so I gave her a Christmas gift. She was late most times because she had to pick up her friend Lisa. She was never on time. She was always very polite.

Lisa did her work exactly as promised and made my yard look great! She is very responsive and professional in her dealings. She actually finished the work sooner than her estimated end date. I definitely plan to use her again.

She ripped us off. We spent half an hour going over what we wanted done, what we wanted pulled up and what we wanted mulched. She said that she would do that. We agreed on a price and she said that she would go ahead and mow our lawn and weed eat for free. She came and weed-eated some of the stuff that we didn't want cut down. Another lady came and pulled weeds for about an hour. Then they said they had to have $175 to go get mulch. The price was supposed to be $350 for the whole job. That included 8 yards of mulch. We didn't get any mulch. We called her and she said that if we were going to be that way, she just wouldn't come back. We ended up paying her $175 for the mulch and we didn't get any mulch. We ended up paying for the stuff that she said she was going to do for free. She didn't do what she said she was going to do.

The work went very well indeed. Saw her reviews on Angie's List and thought I'd give her a try. Called, left a voice mail and she was prompt to return my call. We scheduled a time to meet and she was here right on time. We reviewed the work together and she gave me what I thought was a most reasonable quote. The quote included the mulch. The work was supposed to start on Saturday, but she and her collegue came early to get ahead of a rainey weekend forecast. The work took several afternoons and was hampered by cold and rainey weather. She and her collegue work very h****** the available days and finished within a week, sooner than I would have expected. Their work was well done (quality) and exceeded my expectations. She even went back and retrimed a bush I thought needed to be cut shorter. The mulch was of good quality and well applied. Overall job was well done and both my wife and I were most pleased with the job. We intend to call on her services again.

The person she had doing most of the labor was a very hard worker and detailed in what he was doing.

I spent about $120 for the last service. Her timeliness and attention to detail are good. Overall, she does a very good job.

They worked very rapidly and efficiently. They did a good job on planting the bulbs. They need supervision when transplanting existing plants.

My wife and I recently moved into a house in West Knoxville area. With a new baby on the way and a new house purchase we needed someone to help us with the yard while the house was prepped to move in. I found Lisa Darnell on Angies list along with a couple of others. I received 2 quotes on mowing the lawn, trimming the bushes, and weeding the beds. Both quotes were within $10. I hired Lisa because she was a start up business and I felt she would provide the level of detail that my wife and I looked for. Lisa and her team blew us away with her diligence and attention to detail. She not only provided us with the services we asked for she went above and beyond and killed bugs and bees that were infesting some of the beds, as well as hauling off the debris each day she did the job. After witnessing the work ethic of the team, we asked Lisa to mulch around the entire house. She completed this task. I noticed on Angies list that she and her team also cleaned houses. We were falling behind so we asked for help with the detailed cleaning of entire house and painting of closets. Her quote was very reasonable and the work was completed within 2 days. Lisa and Michele worked through a Saturday and Sunday to help us get the house complete. The final job was to prep the yard for grass, this was accomplished by pulling up the ground cover (heavy vine) around the fence, along the side of property and behind the house. Lisa and her team completed in approx. 6-days. Working multiple people 4-8 hrs/day. The quote was very reasonable for the amount of time spent and the quality was amazing. Overall, I highly recommend Lisa Darnell. She is a start-up business that is being built correctly. She is cost competitive, timely, and meticulous. Lisa will be maintaining my property through 2010 and start planting grass by Sept.

Lisa is a very hard worker and her prices are reasonable. I am always pleased with her work. She is so honest that I trust her with the passcode on my garage door so she can come and go as needed. When I inherited these properties they were in very bad shape. None of the jobs I have given Lisa have been easy, but she never complains. If she sees a better way to do the job or another job that needs doing she speaks up. You will not regret hiring this woman.
