Lawn Doctor Of West Knoxville

Basically we feel like we threw away our ~$900 or so for half a year's service. You can view the attached pictures to see how ugly our yard has been for the past 3 months after the last LD treatment. Weed treatment didn't work and they did an absolutely horrible job of fertilizing it. Yard has never been worse since giving LD a chance. We hired Lawn Doctor in summer 2019. I didn't put down enough fertilizer in the spring so it was yellowy all summer and the weeds have been getting worse so I wanted to just pay a company to get it back in shape for me. My house is only 2 years old and it was fully sodded so the yard itself isn't that bad. In addition to wanting fertilizer service and weed service I also wanted them to aerate the soil and go ahead and overseed the yard. Lawn aeration and overseeding were ok (they did skip a huge spot on my yard when seeding but they came back the next day and fixed it after we complained) so we don't have any issue with that. Our issues are with the weed control and fertilization. Weed control just didn't work at all. I spent probably 5-6 hours on my knees pulling out the weeds one-by-one just to get my lawn to the way it is right now. If I'm paying a company to kill weeds then I'm expecting that it will get done and that I will not have to do everything myself. They also did a horrible job at fertilizing before the winter. Around a month later (beginning of December) my wife and I both noticed that our front yard looked like a race track. There is an obvious dark oval where the guy drove the 4 wheeler around our front yard and the yard is light yellow everywhere he did not drive over. The left and right sides of my yard have one long dark green stripe and the rest is light yellow. The back yard looks just the same with dark green stripes only in the place where the guy drove. Not only was my yard not fertilized properly at all but it now looks WAY worse than before and it stands out in the neighborhood in a very bad way. Long story short, you will absolutely throw your money away and your yard will look even worse than it did before you called Lawn Doctor. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Nice people, poor service results, night and day different between their work and previous service. It might be because of all the rain, but after 2 visits my yard is full of common weeds that were killed by other service. Salesman came to inspect, then without mentioning weeds and poor color tried to up sell fall service work .

Tim and his partner arrived as scheduled and went right to work. They were very careful to avoid the in-ground sprinkler heads and provided complete coverage with both the aeration and overseeding. They provided instructions on watering and care to promote the best growth---even left the label of the seeds for my information. Very courteous and helpful. As a result I have signed up for their annual lawn service.

I have used Lawn Doctor for two years now and my rather large lawn never looked better.  I have received a number of compliments on it.  I also must compliment Mike and the office staff for being very responsive to requests.  I added their fungicide treatment service last year.  Although these treatments are expensive, my yard looked good throughout the "brown patch" season.

They are very professional and timely.  Our lawn has improved since we have been using Lawn Doctor.

Extremely satisfied with service.  Yard has more weeds than grass and it will take at least another year of treatments to reach satisfactory appearance.  Sales Rep made that clear on first visit.
Price per treatment comparable with another quote.  Didn't get competitor price for power seeding.
Always called day before the service so we could keep dogs put up while treatment was done.  However it would have been helpful to know generally the time of day they intended to perform the service.
When I could be there at same time as technician, they always took time to answer my questions, give recommendations, etc.
Technician Tim Kirby, Sales Rep. Jeremy Cotter, Office Rep Beth, and Power Seeder Jared Ferguson deliver highest quality service and are extremely knowledgeable.
When two small areas didn't respond as well as desired to the power seeding, they were responsive in looking into my concern and setup a re-treatment appointment.

They took care of our yard. They showed up on time. They're great and he's really really good. I would use them again in the future.

I am satisfied. I haven't compared their prices. They killed one of our plants and we are still in the process of resolving that. They have agreed to replace the plant but it hasn't been replaced yet.

In the future, I probably will not use them again.  Though no fault of their own, I much prefer to do lawn care myself and have found I can rent a plug aerator and split the cost with my neighbors.

Lawn Doctor came 3 separate times to kill the original "grass" and weeds--the most difficult to kill were violets and Bermuda grass. The new grass came up very quickly and beautifully within a few weeks (with the help of irrigation). The person who did the estimate was extremely professional--he honored an estimate (underestimate--didn't add in the back lawn) he had given me previously. I would highly recommend Lawn Doctor for renovation. Almost none of the weeds returned. The few violets that appear can be pulled out easily. A few strands of Bermuda grass on the edges can be kept minor. The only problem, which is not the fault of Lawn Doctor, is that the new lawn is highly susceptible to brown patch disease (which the old lawn was not). It costs a lot every summer to prevent/treat. Lawn Doctor had better machinery to do the job than competitors and the price was better.

Of all the lawn people I've used, they're the best. They never try to take advantage of me in any way. They do what they say, when they say they will do it.  They communicate with you, and I endorse them 100%.

They are great. I couldn't recommend them high enough to do them justice.  They are kind, knowledgeable, and courteous to the point knowing I have pets they call ahead to make sure they are put up and don't use chemicals because of my pets.  They are a great company.

My experience with them was good!  I need to get in contact with them about issues with my lawn.  They're not resolved yet, but I'm sure they'll respond on that new problem.  I would probably use them again in the future.

They have a maintenance schedule, and I have them set up to come out 5 times a year.  I have been through several other lawn people and none of them are good. I'd rather have somebody do the fertilizing and weed control rather than doing it myself. They are average. They show up when they say they will.

This is the first season we have used them.  We weren't happy with a competitor.  They were recommended to us.  It's still early in the season.  They have only put down two applications, so it's hard to tell how effective the service is.

My lawn really has improved with them working on it, and people have complimented me for it.  They do what they say they are going to do.  I have never had a problem with them.  I have a pretty good deal with them.  I called one time when they first started and the guy who manages the company out here came out personally to answer my questions, and I thought that was pretty nice.

They were good and they did a good job.  It was fairly priced.  They called us to inform when they were going to be there so that we could water the yard.  They didn’t make of mess of anything.  Everything turned out well.  They were very clear about when they could make it out.  It just took a while for them to get there.

I have been using them for 5 years. He is very confident. They show up when they are supposed to. They know what they are doing. They are not inexpensive but they are worth the cost. They will call me before they come over, but I think it's because they believe I still have a dog. They will give you discounts at the beginning of the year if you pay up front. They also provide coupons and other discounts. They leave a brochure telling what they did afterwards and they leave tips for what needs to be done as well. I will continue to use them. 

I've been using them for a few months now on another property I have.  I'm very happy everything.
