In the beginning as our house was being built Spring of 2014, we would walk through it on the weekends. Before the sheet rock went up, we came by the house to check on the installation of our ductwork in the house. My husband and I both have backgrounds in HVAC (as I am an engineer and my husband is a HVAC technician). We noticed right away, there were several flexible duct runs that were pinched and forced in holes that were too small in order to provide air to the lower level of the home. My husband and I contacted the contractor to get this fixed before the sheetrock went up. First of all, we shouldn't have ever had to report that this happened. Anyone walking into their home can see this and know it is not right, but yet the installers left the ductwork like this, which was very poor quality work and unacceptable. Finally, when we moved in, I noticed a huge temperature difference in my daughter's room (who was only 4 months old at the time). We checked the difference with an infared temperature gauge like you are supposed to do, and her room was 10 degrees difference than all the other rooms in the house. Yes, we understand temperature can fluctuate +/- 2 or so degrees but not 10!!!! So the contractor called Kerley out to take a look at the issue. They put a piece of ductwork with a transition up to the register and said there was enough airflow. One, how do they know how much that room is supposed to have? and two, how can you say a temperature difference of 10 degrees is acceptable? Not once while there did they get in the attic to look at anything. In addition, our units were making loud noises, so they changed the TXVs in the unit. This stopped the noise but did not fix our airflow issue. At this point, I had already missed hours of work for nothing. Their work is of poor quality and their knowledge is questionable. They tried telling us things that were not true, and once they knew my husband and I had knowledge of the subject, they started backpedaling. We were trying to use them until our 1 year labor warranty is up, but they have done such a poor job and haven't fixed the problem. I will not allow them into my home. Now, my husband has to fix and clean up their work, which he shouldn't have to do in the first place. Finally, their professionalism is not very good. There is nothing to identify the guys and who they work for. Their trucks are unmarked. They have no identification on their shirts whatsoever of who they work for. With a lot of different contractors in the neighborhood right now and as a homeowner, you do not always know who is who and if it is a random person just trying to get into your home. This is unnerving as I was the only one home with my infant, and they show up to my door. Overall, the experience has been all not too pleasant. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone as their work is very low quality and many things were done to cut corners and that is being proven as you move into your home.
