Jenkins Brick and Tile had a line of tile that would work perfectly for the master bath project. I needed someone to install the tile.
Jenkins Brick and Tile referred and highly recommended an unlicensed contractor with two employees who installed the tile unsatisfactorily. The unlicensed contractor and his two employees installed the tile and caused the shower stall to be unusable. A licensed plumber did the rough-in of the water lines and valves per the manufacturer's instructions and building codes. The tile installer installed the tile so the levers, knobs, shower heads, etc, could not be attached. The shower cannot be used and will require extensive renovation. To make the shower usable the drywall on two outside walls will have to be removed, the existing water lines and valves will all have to be moved or replaced, the framing will have to be redone and bracing installed. After the levers, knobs and shower heads are installed the two outside walls will have to have new drywall installed and then taped, sanded and painted. The labor charge will be at least $1200 and the materials will be close to $500. Neither Jenkins Brick and Tile nor the unlicensed contractor will take any
responsiblity for anything nor will they take any action to remedy the shower stall. Allowing an unlicensed contractor and two employees in my home created a serious liabiity for the homeowner.
