As a woman I always feel like I am being taken advantage of by a dealership. Not that there has ever been any question about anything, but I am never quite sure if what I am paying them is the going rate. I mean, how would I know that. I have heard that you should not go to a dealership for your service, but it is under warranty for 60,000 miles so I have chosen to follow up with the dealership. I guess that would go for any dealership. I am not talking about Grayson, per se. I guess what I am saying is I do look around the waiting room and there are men sitting there so I feel comforted by that but I am trying to justify my decision. Nothing they have ever done has ever been any less than professional. Nothing they have ever done has ever broken down except Hyundai radios are very poor. I have had two replacements. I have had three radios in that car and I bought it brand new three years ago. That raises my eyebrows but they have never charged me to replace it. But it is never a new radio; it has always been present with country music on it, which I do not care for so they are not new. You wonder where they come from -- maybe the boneyard, you know? They are very responsive. I need to continue to use them in the future while the car is under warranty.
"Thank you for the review! We appreciate your time and your business here at Grayson. If you need anything else for your vehicle, please let us know!"
She told them she wanted to have an inspection before she drove the long trip for any issues. They called her at work within a couple of hours informing her of over $5,000 of necessary work regarding safety issues that could lead to a fire and several other major problems. She called me very anxious and upset, afraid of the fire issue and believed we were going to have to spend $5000 just to keep her safe for the drive. She picked the car up and head to pay $413 just for minor things and I contacted our USUAL mechanics, dropped off the car the next morning and they fixed everything that really was needed for $350.
I was so infuriated I did not even want to talk to anyone, so I could cool down. They lied to my wife in order to scare her into spending more money than the car was worth or maybe even they would have suggested a trade for a car on their lot. After talking with at least 2 other Subaru owners, they had the same kind of experience when taking their car to Grayson.
I still have the invoice for both Grayson and the other business that performed the service and would have no problem backing these facts up.
"Thank you for the review. We apologize for the experience, but in the end want all of our customer to have a good experience with us. We would not be here without out great customers and good experiences. In the notes showing in the system for this visit on the repair order, it shows these items: Customer states vehicle has noise in front of vehicle when going up a hill and turning. Found: Left front axle making noise. Needs left front axle or replace both as a set due to aftermarket axles already on vehicle at 170,000 miles. Notes: Vehicle leaking oil and needs head gaskets. General Recommendations: fuel service, power steering flush, front and rear service (recommendations would be based on miles on vehicle and/or that it did not show in our system as items recently done in normal maintenance schedules). Also on ticket: Complete 4 wheel alignment: Notes - left rear toe still out. Will have to replaces left rear T-Arm first and align car but it is ok to drive car on this current alignment. On ticket: AC not working at this time. Note: AC O-Ring on order While some of the recommendations were made, I do not see anything that would cause it to be fire related unless in this bodystyle the oil would be running/dripping onto the exhaust or other items that get very hot due to engine running. Again, we apologize for the experience that you had at this visit and hope that your Outback is still running great for you."
"Thank you for the review! If the rear left rear wheel bearing (complete hub unit) did not fix the wobble, did you have a correction found elsewhere? The technician that inspected your vehicle is a Subaru Master Tech and one that some other dealers call for help on Subaru diagnostics (and he is the one I have work on my Subaru) so if it turned out to be something else, we would like to know. The fluid recommendation would be based on Subaru's schedule and the miles on your vehicle (if it had not been done with us recently in a previous visit)."
"Thank you for the review [member name removed]! I hope that you are also able to read the response to your review above so we can determine what else could cause the wobble (bearings are the item we see that causes it here) since it would have been diagnosed to a specific side by the master technician."
