Grass Masters

I have a tree-filled yard; hence, an enormous leaf pile. Grass Masters carted off virtually every leaf from the pile as well as from most of the rest of the yard, even from under bushes, etc

First the good news - the leaves are mostly gone. But oh my, what it took to get to that point is nuts. Originally contacted this vendor on Nov 25 to give me a custom cost estimate. Their website says 175 to 225 is typical, but they will come by for a custom estimate. They gave me a custom quote of 200 to 225. I requested that they put me on their schedule, which they did - they were a no show. Soon thereafter our area was hit with several days of rain, so they were unable to work. During breaks in the rain I checked in with them to see if they were headed my way. I was told that because of the rain, the leaves would be more difficult to handle, which would cost me more than the original estimate. I told them I wasn't interested in paying more, but to get me back on the schedule as soon as they got back to normal opns. They finally did the job on Dec 16th, nearly three weeks after I originally contacted them. A few days later I recv'd their invoice....for $289.89 - nearly 30% higher then their cost estimate. I paid the originally agreed upon $225 and received a subsequent invoice for the difference with a justification saying it was because of wet leaves, even though their no-show pushed the job into a rainy period and despite the fact I told them I told them I didn't want them doing the job when it would cost more and when they did the job the leaves were dry enough that they were blowing around the yard. So if you don't mind a contractor who fails to honor their cost estimate, fails to show up for a scheduled job, then charges you 30% more than they estimated without giving you advanced notice, then this is your contractor.

Because of an injury, my husband was unable to mow our yard, so I called a couple of companies to give estimates. I decided to go with Grass Masters as I wanted to make sure the blades were cleaned and they weren't simply dragging weeds from one house to another. The guys did a great job during the summer and only once did one of the guys get a little too weed whacking happy and cut down some flowers. Within minutes they did what would've taken me over an hour. I would definitely recommend this company.

I utilized their service for leaf removal. I requested an estimate and received it very quickly. The pricing was reasonable and they reduced the estimate slightly (about 10%) to obtain new business. The leaves were slightly wet, but they did not have a problem blowing all the leaves very quickly. They blew them to the road, then vacuumed them up with a large truck. With the crew they had, they completed the job in about 30 minutes. It would have taken me 2 days of hard work to do the same work, not to mention disposing of the leaves. After they were finished, the yard looked like a carpet and there was a noticeable straight line distinguishing my yard and the neighbor's, who still had their leaves. They are a little late in cashing my check ( about 1 month and counting), but they say they have it and it is in process. Overall, I felt it was money well spent and would recommend them to others.

They are very dependable and I really like Charles, Nick, and Chuck. They are all very friendly and reliable. At times they will call and say they need to fertilize or over-seed. I just trust them. They live in Kingston and they have to drive a long way and with the gas prices, I can't really complain about the price. I have been perfectly happy with them.

One call to Grassmasters and they have moved our lawn ever since.
They do a very good job and are alwasy willing to accomodate if additional work is needed.

They were effective. The prices were reasonable. The timing was good and they were punctual.
