Male only high end barber shop. Have been going here for years and absolutely the best place in town for a high quality men's haircut.

I had a great experience there. It is an upscale barber shop, and they do a great job for $25 haircut. If I get extra service like hair coloring or tanning, it costs an extra $30 or something. I thought the pricing was good if you wanted to do all that. It is a great place to go. The atmosphere is more geared towards men. They have women and a couple of men stylists. Every time I go in, they are ready for me. I do not have to wait long at all. The stylist I have usually do a good job, but the last time I was in there I was a little put off because it was not a good job. So, I was not back there for awhile, but I will probably use them again in the future after I get over my bad experience and have a conversation with my stylist.

Overall, we had a great experience. We walked in without an appointment just before 11 on a Saturday. They told us their next spot was at 11:30, and they started the haircut at approximately that time. While we were waiting, we were able to sit in comfortable chairs with big screen TVs showing ESPN GameDay. Alternatively, we could have played pool or chess for free. Water and root beer were also provided. The receptionist and all people we encountered were exceptionally friendly. The barber (Judy) was great with our 5 year old and gave him a great haircut.

I appreciated them getting me in quickly without an appointment. They did have regular root beer other than diet, but that was the only minor thing I can come up with. They have darts, a pool table, and sports related items. It was an interesting experience and I definitely intend to return. I felt like a pampered pooch by the time I left!

NB: Frank's specializes in men's haircuts--they serve you root beer and you can shoot pool while you wait, they have ESPN playing during the haircut, and it's overall very masculine. If you're used to being made uncomfortable in ladies-oriented salons, you'll probably react well to Frank's, though some men might be put off by the old-fashioned wood-paneled look they're going for. For wet-shaving aficionados, they have a wide selection of Art of Shaving products available for purchase, as well as other men's hair products. The haircut was much more luxurious than the average barber. It started with the barber spreading a bit of lavender essential oil on his hands and waving them in front of my face for the scent ("a bit of aromatherapy", he explained). Silly as it sounds, it was rather relaxing. The advertised "relaxing shoulder and neck massage", done with a massage machine, was a little more token than I'd have imagined it, though I suppose I could've asked him to continue--he'd asked how I liked it, but I'm shy around new barbers and didn't give him a strong answer. The haircut continued with a lavender-scented hot towel (even though I wasn't getting a shave--very relaxing) while being shampooed and conditioned with wonderful, peppermint-scented shampoo. The actual haircut was what you'd expect--the barber was very young, and tended to listen more and ask more questions about what I wanted than the average barber. The haircut concluded with another shampoo. Was it more than the average haircut? Yes, certainly. Was it a better experience than the average haircut? Yes, definitely. Was it worth the extra $5-$10 over another barbershop? That depends on what you want from a haircut, but I'd say yes. Be sure to tell the barber what you want -- the barber I had was very responsive, but he tended to err on the side of cutting less when I wasn't communicative.
