I gave him a check for $2000 and he sent out a painter to do trim work . He asked for another $1400 and promiced that the work would be finished the next week. After that all I heard was excuses untill he quit taking my calls. Bottom line I am out 3400 for $200 worth of trim painting. I queried the police. Since He did some of the work, what he did was cival, not criminal. All I could do was take him to court and sue him. If I could find him, If he had any of the money left.
My mistake was to pay him in advance. This man uses an Illinois Drivers Licence for ID
