It has been a year since the contract was signed. Conner gives you a a date several months in th future, and then if it rains on your date and the work can't be done, your job it put at the end of the line and you have to wait more months. This has happened several times and the work still isn't done. Conner waites until the last minute to notify you that they aren't coming when it is obvious that they had to know at least a day or two ahead of time. I can not recommend Conner paving. I will update this review if the work ever gets done.

This is an update to an A rating I gave at the time they did the work in July 2015, I could not edit the original review. I was pleased at the time but each year since the driveway has deteriorated and they do not return calls or come out when they say they will. They did repair one area 2x when they came out to reseal the driveway the first 2 years but I now have many large cracks along the driveway that are getting worse all the time even though there's no heavy traffic on it and I've tried to reseal/patch them. The old driveway under this one had no such cracks. The drain they installed had a side access designed to be plugged if a pipe was not installed. They put the plug on the inside instead of the out. The plug keeps falling out which wouldn't happen if installed on the outside. When it's out water fills the drain and washes out the dirt and stone from around the drain box and has reached the point where a sink hole now exists. The asphalt is breaking off and falling into the hole and the drain has cracked from lack of support around it. I'm going to have to fix it myself but it will never look the same. I've included pics of what their work looks like less than 4 years later. I called Ernie last summer and he said he'd come look at it but never did. For $10,000 I should have a nice looking driveway for many years especially when I paid another $1600 for 2 seal coats by them as instructed.
Response from Conner Asphalt Paving
"We currently have over 30 paving projects on our schedule, which does not include the sealing projects booked through Sept, we typically seal 8-10 per day 3 days per week. We have explained to Mr. [Member Name Removed] more than once that if something happens on your day weather etc. we have to work you back in "you do not get tomorrow" it causes a domino affect we couldn't possibly deal with, calling all those people to accomodate one project. We do not move you to the back of the line. At this time and after this complaint I feel it would be best for him to find someone else."

It took a few days for someone from Conner to get back to me. They were on time for the estimate and for the job. The crew members were pleasant and professional. They worked quickly to remove the old asphalt and had a truck of hot asphalt there when they needed it. The finished job looked very good. The only issue was with the concrete apron in front of the garage. It had oil and tar on it that I haven't been able to remove. I would recommend Conner and would use them again.

The service Conner provided was excellent. They did way more than they were even asked at no additional charge. We compared our job with another complex down the street and our asphalt is way better than theirs.

"[Member Name Removed], I just now saw this for some reason and I find it very odd, we are usually very good at returning calls. That having been said we stop sealing the end of Sept due to temperature changes and the falling leaves in Oct. The end of season is also our busy time of the year. I apologize if you were lost in the shuffle. Sincerely, Wendell Conner"

We had some difficulty making contact and getting scheduled; but that was partially due to the time of year. Once scheduled, they were prompt, worked consistently (a full 3 day job, a long drive), did a high quality job. We originally were planning on just re-asphalting, but decided to change to concrete. We did not have an easy drive to do; but they took care of all the unusual needs, went above and beyond, and did an excellent job. We have gotten many compliments. I would, and have, recommend them in a second. If there was an A+, I would give it. Thank you for your conscientious and good work, Conners!

Mr. Conner and his crew arrived on schedule with a lot of equipment. The worked efficiently and were finished in about 4 hours. Mr. Conner made sure all my questions were answered and any concerns addressed. Our new driveway looks great. He even reduced the final cost below the original estimate.

Our driveway is very long with a large area in front of the garages and 2 extensions that we added to carports, nearly 6,000' sq. The existing asphalt was very old and neglected when we bought it 2 years ago. Ernie came out within a week or so of contacting them for an estimate, he measured everything with great detail and gave me a quote on the spot that was a few hundred dollars less than another offer and included 1/2" more asphalt. They were scheduling out nearly 2 months due to a heavy workload but managed to do it several days earlier then planned. They arrived early that day (by 7 AM) with their crew of 6 and all their equipment and got right to it. They're a family company and work like one, seamless in their teamwork, no slackers and each one plays their role but knows the entire process and jumps right in when something needs to be done. There were 3 generations working side by side as one including the owners. The heat was intense and the hot asphalt made it worse but they worked straight through without stopping even for lunch until they were done around 3 PM. To my surprise they left my job for another on the other side of town. Their work was beautiful, they didn't cut corners and they had exactly enough asphalt to do the job, no waste or shortage due to the detailed measurements on day one. At times the communication leading up to the work was delayed because Ernie is part of the paving crew which makes it hard to answer the phone while he's running a roller and raking hot asphalt in 90+ degree heat but he always got back to us. In the end any delays in communication didn't delay the work and the quality of work was worth any inconvenience. These are hard working, honest people that want to do a good job and leave you satisfied which I find increasingly rare these days. They were very professional and courteous from start to finish and provided instructions/suggestions, written and verbal on how to care for the new asphalt both short term and long including written estimates for sealing next year.  This was a lot of money for us but we're very satisfied with the quality that should last for many years.

I left a message on the company's voicemail in March, within a day they had called me back.  A rep showed up within a couple of days exactly at the appointed time and made an estimate; I had been dealing with a lot of contractors and was pleased with his punctuality.  The estimate was less than $100 off my own rough budget (I didn't share that number) and due to his professionalism and demeanor I went ahead and scheduled the job without any other bids.  He said it would be about a month; around the middle of April he called to schedule.  The job was rained out, and got pushed to the next week.  On the morning of the job, the crew showed up at around 6:45 and got to work.  They were done in about 3 hours.  The quality of the work was as good as asphalt can be, with some minor drainage issues, soft spots, and grass poking through in places.  I wasn't entirely excited about asphalt and had a bid for concrete as well - it was $6500.  Almost half the price to cap the old driveway instead of replace it with concrete - so I'm happy with the compromise.  I marked a "B" on price because I read some reviews on Angie's List stating that they had thousands of feet of driveway done for just 3 or 4 times what my 100 feet cost; I'm sure there are a lot of fixed costs that are the same for every job but it seems I alone paid the Conner mortgage payment last month.  Such is the nature of the beast; I should have got more quotes for peace of mind and to ensure my pricing was in line with the area's standards.  Their quality of work, attention to detail, and professionalism make up for any perceived price discrepancy.  I recommend them without reservation.

"[member's name removed] Let me apologize for any misunderstanding and the delay, it was my understanding that our sales rep discussed this damage with you and since it sounded minor mentioned that we would look at it when we were in the area. While we do work in Clinton we are not out there often and usually handle minor repairs such as this during our seal coat season. Due to temperatures needing to be above 52 degrees for sealing to cure properly we don't typically start this until the first of May. Ernie does have you on his repair list we just didn't realize there was such a rush. If you'll accept our apology we will be happy to look at this for you and schedule the repair along with your sealing if needed. Sincerely, Wendell Conner"

"[Member name removed], Let me apologize for not giving you a heads up before we arrived to start your repairs, we usually do not. With electronic calendars, reminders etc... it seems like most folks know were coming when we schedule a job and have had very few customers get caught off guard. We stay pretty busy so those extra calls would be difficult, I am however looking into a phone tree program for our computers to remedy this in the future. Thank you for your input. Sincerely, Wendell Conner"
