After using this company for 10 years on my 2 properties, because they did a good install at my Dad's, I find out that every single tech that came out over the years didn't do proper maintenance. I never went out and watched, I never looked inside at the coil and the heat. None of them took out the coil and cleaned it. The heat is filthy. The coil area is so rusty from condensation due to the drain filling up with rust and backing up and spilling down into the heat underneath and rusting out a motor. Every time, I asked why was my air causing so much water, they would tell me it was hot in the garage! No checking my coil. No cleaning my drain as they said they did. No cleaning the heat. Last night I saw this with my own eyes when a new company I hired to fix the heat and look at the air coil pulled the cover and showed me the mess. Told me I should've been keeping up with maintenance on it. Well, I was, only City Heat and Air techs were lying to me about performing the maintenace properly. The last straw was I always ask for a tech at my other property that is knowledgable with Apollo system and the last one they sent, I had to explain how it operates. In fact, that is the reason I called another company. If you use them for maintenance, go out there and watch them.

All work was completed in 6-7 hours. All debris and removed units was removed. There was an issue with one of fan systems. City Heat and Air had a technician here the next day! All is well so far 3 weeks after the replacement systems have been installed. Also the warranty info has been registered with the manufacturer so we do not have to send any additional paperwork.. HVAC units cost $11,000 for all labor and equipment. Steep but better than failure down the road.

Conflicting recommendations and then no response when we asked for written estimate for suggested repair work. We bought this house 3 years ago and have had a strong musty smell coming from return vents for the past 2 summers. This occurs during the hot, most humid summer days after the system has been running. Last summer one technician from City said he could find nothing wrong and told us to spray Lysol in all return vents several times a day for 2 weeks. Against my better judgement, I tried this for 2 days. All it did was cover up the musty smell with the strong smell of Lysol, and also started making me lightheaded. So I stopped using it and asked my neighbor who he used for HVAC. It was different company, and the owners son came out that day. He said the insulation covering the main trunk of the return ducts was not the right kind. He said to call the office and a technician would come out for full inspection and an estimate. We called numerous times and no one ever came out again. So this year, when we had the same musty smell problem, since we still had a maintenance contract with City, we called and requested a different technician. He came out a few days later and spent a little time in the crawl space. He said the connections between ducts were not sealed properly and that the insulation was good, but it was wrapped too tightly, not allowing the duct to "breathe." He was talking to my husband and started off with an estimate of $500, which made its way up to over $2000 for "masting connections and rewrapping the insulaion of the main return duct." My husband asked him if he measured the length of the duct, and he was told "I know how long it is". The tech then wanted to schedule the work. My husband said he wanted a written detailed estimate of the scope of work before scheduling to have the work done. He said the technician seemed put out and left. We were charged around $85+ for this call, and were told it would be deducted from the repair work when we had it done. So after calling the office about 10 times over the course of several months and talking to both women that do scheduling, telling me that they had repeatedly given our name and number to the estimator, no contact was ever made, and no one came out to measure or give us an estimate. This is a real shame because we have used City H&A for over 10 years at our previous home for twice yearly maintenance inspections, and they have always done a great job. We even had them install a new HVAC system and complete new duct work at our last address. But at our new home, this lack of any followup response is unacceptable and I am giving up on them. I will especially not renew our maintenance contract with them. Anyone have any suggestions of an HVAC company that does good work and has good customer service?

Tech called, couldn't hear or understand him. Jacob is the name. Tried to show him where everything was located. Didn't seem interested. First thing he did was use the bathroom, didn't ask. Thought this was unusual since no other techs have done this. Had his shoe covers on when he came in. When he went out the back door, he took them off. He stayed outside for a long time and seemed to be wandering around walking back and forth. He came back in the "front" door. His shoe covers remained at the back door. He left without putting the metal filter back in place and the panel off the wall. He said that I needed the coils cleaned and if I didn't have this done soon, I'd be without air. Couldn't tell me how much that would cost. I regret calling the company. I paid for two visits. I called the company last week to schedule my 2nd appt. I had one request and that was to send another tech and not the one I had originally. The woman on the phone challenged me, stating that I must be mistaken because that is totally out of character for this individual and maybe I was confusing them with another company. I told her that I was not mistaken, I had the receipt in hand and the person's name is on it. She still insisted I was lying. I told her to just refund my second visit and I would find another company. She stated that they did not refund any money.

"The technician this customer is complaining about has worked for us for 5 years with zero complaints and numerous compliments so when someone calls in with this many complaints on one person it just did not seem logical to the office since it happened 8 months ago. We apoligize if you think we made your complaint seem insignificant. We take any complaints seriously. The customer signed the tune up invoice showing that he cleaned the evaporator coil but it needed to be removed to be cleaned properly. We only have to do this on impacted or hard to access coils. Our technicians are required to wear shoe covers inside homes and pride ourselves on great customer service. I would recommend to any of our customers to please call us if you have an issue, any issue. This is a situation that could have easily been rectified with a phone call when it happened. I am refunding the remainder of the contract. Mike Davis President"

I got three estimates. City presented the best estimate with the best information. They helped me be an informed buyer. They installed within a couple of days and the new pump is working great!

They were wonderful. They were fast. They were switching out our units. It was summer time so it was hot. We needed our air conditioning. They were courteous. They were quick and efficient. The units work wonderfully. We didn't have any issues with them. They come out and do maintenance twice a year for us to maintain the units. They were here when they said they would be. They were done before I thought they would. Everything works fine. I didn't have any issues.

Mike was great.  He explained all my options and answered all my questions.  In the end, City's estimate fell somewhere in the middle- not the cheapest, but not the most expensive- of my other options.   I chose City over the cheaper quote because they seemed more professional and helpful than the other choice.  I have been very happy with my new heat & air unit!!

I called City Heating and Air this morning. The tech called me back about an hour and a half later and said that he would be her in about 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and discussed what should be done with the heater. I may need to replace it. The tech was able to get it working and will have someone come out and discuss my options. Great service!

Ron and Robert came to my home to correct issues regarding my HVAC system.  First, I discovered I had two ventilation grilles that were merely caulked to the ceiling.  Not good.  They installed framing and new grilles for me.  Second, my HVAC unit is in a closet.  The return register was really just a louvered bifold door.  They cut a new return in the wall beside the unit so I can replace the louvered door with a solid door.

Everyone I have ever had from  in my home from City Heat and Air has always been professional, neat, clean and very knowledgeable .  I continue to learn from these gentlemen every time they perform a service for me.  Just a really nice company to trust for your heat and air.  Thanks, Frankie.
