As the wife of a 48-year-old disabled veteran with early onset Parkinsons, I thought American Home Design was the right choice to install a handicap-accessible shower in our master bathroom after seeing all of the positive reviews. We thought the $17,000 price tag was steep, but this remodel is for the mental well-being and physical safety of my husband so he does not slip and fall. We had our initial meeting in June where the sales rep took measurements and told us the job would take place in November and that it would only take 1 day, 2 max. Fast forward to January 5th when the process finally started. The installers came and removed our bathtub and got the area ready to install the shower on Jan. 6th. On Jan. 6th when they returned, they realized the shower panel walls were two different colors and they would be unable to finish the job. We were told it would take 2 weeks for the correct materials to come in stock. Talk about frustrating, having our master bathroom be in a state of construction for 2 weeks. Thankfully we can use our teen daughters shower, but it is extremely inconvenient and the bathtub walls are higher which makes it more dangerous for my husband to step in and out without slipping. On January 13th, I submitted an online form expressing my frustration with not only having our bathroom in a state of disarray with no end in sight but up to that point, there had been no contact from anyone at AHD informing us of when our bathroom would get finished. On January 23rd, we were told the product was in stock and they just need to schedule the installation. Today it is January 27th and we still have no word on when our shower will be installed. This is $17,000 we are already regretting. We went almost a month without being able to shower in our master bathroom. My husband deserves better than this. He served 15 years in the Army as a combat helicopter pilot with 2 tours to Iraq and now is on 100% disability from Parkinsons due to toxic burn pits. Would you think AHD would be more proactive in keeping us informed and taking steps to compensate for their failure in upholding their end of the contract? Military and veteran community, please beware of using AHD. I have written a negative online review before, but I was given no other option as a wife advocating for her husband.

Very professional installers that performed task of walk-in shower downstairs and new tub/shower upstairs. The job took two days and was started on the estimated 12th week after sale. Seem to be very high quality units and a very good warranty. Friends and family have told me I paid way too much for the total package but I hope I can recoup the expense if I ever sell the house.

They are professional and backup their work and products.

***DO NOT MAKE THE SAME $13,000 DOLLAR MISTAKE WE DID!*** We have had a terrible experience with AHD and after trying to communicate with the office, seller, and other members of the management team we received zero help and a ton of excuses. We shopped around and got several quotes from other companies and ultimately went with AHD because we thought we were going to be treated fairly and like human being and not like a transaction. Well that changed the second you signed on the dotted line. The have no pride or care for their â customersâ aka paychecks. I have never wrote a negative review about a company before but felt it extremely important after giving them every opportunity to make it right for me and my family. You would be better off with a big box store or Pella, I honestly feel like they should be ashamed of themselves. If you are reading this review and have any questions and are considering no using American Home Design please give me a call and I will gladly speak with you about why you should NOT. The manger I was dealing with this entire time to this day has still not answered my email, extremely poor customer service. Bait and switch sales tactics. RUN!

Everything was exceptional. In my experience, this is by far one of the best construction companies I have had in my home.

We were very pleased with the installation process. The price was more than I expected to pay but I believe that it was well worth the money. Very pleased.

They were phenomenal, and I am so thrilled at how our bathroom turned out.

The customer service was fantastic from the salesman to the installer. I had two bathrooms done, so the installer was in my home for three days. I was very impressed that each day when he left, you couldnâ t even tell he had been there because he cleaned up everything and closed the bathroom door so you couldnâ t even tell work was being done! Personally, I felt the price was a little high, but I am thrilled with the end product!

Poor customer service. Hard to get call backs. Did not get the correct items for new shower.

We liked what we saw from the options from the salesman. The shower replacement was done on time and top quality by the installer. Materials and selections we made were spot on and we are very pleased with the quality and workmanship. The price was spot on in comparison with other options.

Fine job

I was expecting a total renovation but with American Home Design we only changed the bathtub for a walk in shower. The rest of the renovation was left for us to contend with. For the high cost I thought we would have everything completed. I am happy with the shower and the lifetime warranty on it!

We had quite a back and forth between the salesman and his boss. They were not able to do all the work we wanted for our bathroom remodel, so we scaled down what we wanted and got a quote around $23,000. We declined that and were contacted by the supervisor a day or two later who said he could lower the cost to $14,000. I've simplified the back and forth by cutting out a bunch of phone calls and 4 home visits for pictures and measurements. In the end we signed and a very competent installer showed up on time prepared for the job. We were told a "team" would be installing and therefore the job would take at the most 2 days. Bob was our team and it took 4 days to get everything done, minus installing the tub. They had ordered the wrong one and we had to wait for the right one to be delivered. It took a week to get the tub and Bob took another day to get it installed. The salesmen seem to over promise and over charge, but the product and skill level of the installers are top notch. We are happy with the final product and would use American Home Design again. It was difficult to get anyone to make a bid, and there are a lot of rip off artists out there, so going with a national chain makes sense.
