"Good afternoon. We're very sorry to hear about this customers experience. Upon locating their account, we see that they have not been a customer since Sept, 2014. When the customer had their system installed, they contracted through an Authorized Dealer. Our last visit was a couple months before the customer canceled which entailed repairing wiring within the panel. after writing this review I was contacted by ADT corporate office. A technician and supervisor made 2 more visits and worked hard to get the system repaired correctly.
"Hello. We located the customers account and spoke with the husband. We offered to reduce the rate and also assisted with scheduling a service appointment to replace the backup battery for the customer. Thank you. -Andrew"
I decided to go with another vendor that had options which were a better fit for my house. The system I installed is like the system on my old house that Brinks installed, however wireless as well.
When I called ADT to cancel and explained the new system would not meet my needs, they told me that is fine but I still had 8 months left on my contract. They went on to say that I must pay the 8 months outstanding and asked for my new address to send the bill. Making a long story short, I finally spoke with a "supervisor" and the best they were willing to give me was a 20% reduction.
So, they don't care that their system could not meet my needs nor could they install the system I needed. The company I purchased the system from previously was purchased by ADT, which was not a good thing for us. I will never use them again, ever. The fact that I tried to use them but couldn't, they didn't care even after I had been with them for so many years. They are going to make me pay even when they are providing me no service.
Buyer beware, they will make you pay regardless of your situation and the alarm system is not sophisticated, in my opinion. You may even be able to buy something comparable over the internet and use your wifi to monitor.
"Upon review of the account, in December of 2012, the customer upgraded the Brinks equipment in the home to the ADT Pulse system. This upgrade required that the customer enter into a new three(3) year agreement with ADT. The customer is still under contract with ADT and has opted not to relocate his services because he is unsatisfied with the equipment offered, resulting in incurring early termination charges for his previous location. As a courtesy, ADT has waived the early termination charges and left a voicemail message for the customer updating him on the status of the account. Thank you. -Andrew"
