My elderly parents hired AA-air to repair their AC/heating unit 6 months ago when their AC went out. They were very prompt and professional. They repaired the unit for close to $900. They also inspected the heating component at that time. My parents were told that although the unit was roughly 13 years old it looked good. This past week their heat went out and were told they needed to replace the unit. The quote they received was $7,966 and I'm not sure if that included labor. We were blown away by the price and got another estimate from someone we have used for our own home and trusted. Upon re-inspection it was agreed upon that the unit did need replacing and probably should have been replaced 6 months ago when it was first serviced by AA-air. When we discussed the previous repair and the cost our repair man felt that my parents were way overcharged. He quoted the same repair for $250 (parts and labor). That is a $650 difference! They ended up having a new unit installed by our heating/air guy for $4,200. Their new unit is not a Trane, which is the only units sold by AA-air. I understand that Trane products are more expensive b/c they are known for their reliability and quality. That being said, it still doesn't explain why they charged $650 more for a repair of an older unit than another repair man would charge on a unit that should've been replaced anyway. I'd hate to think my elderly parents were taken advantage of. If you don't mind being overcharged and only want a Trane product than AA-air is a great choice. They were prompt and professional. However, based on my experience I would recommend another company.

AA-Air is excellent! Now I can use my basement all year & the house is very quiet and comfortable. They measured and inspected everything & determined too-small supplies and return ducting. After much discussion, I also replaced my 20 yo unit with a larger, variable speed, which improved airflow so I don't need portable dehumidifiers. AA-Air are easy to reach - chat, phone, email, & I like that they came out after to review the work & see how I was doing. I am on their maintenance plan (came with unit) & I look forward to seeing them.

Philip came out within about 20 minutes. The evaporator was frozen up due to low refrigerant. He had it running within about 30 minutes. I have used them for years, but in the last few years their charges have increased substantially. We both knew that there was a slow leak in the evaporator as the refrigerant was down some a year or so ago. Charges were $89 for system analysis, $143 to thaw the evaporator and $323 for 2 lb 2 oz of Freon22. The market price for Freon22 is about $30 per pound in 30 pound cylinders. This is much more than my children pay for AC SERVICE

We noticed late on a hot week day that
our central air conditioning had stopped cooling and the house was heating up
quickly, though the fan was blowing air. It appeared the compressor was
not running at all. We called AA Air about 5:30 PM, the technician arrived
about 6:30 PM, and the unit was cooling normally again by 7:30 PM. The
technician replaced a failed electrical part and completely checked out the
electrical system and the freon charge and pressures. He took time to talk to
us about the system. We belong to their Comfort Club and recommend it.

Service call $80. That's fair. But the technician defrosted the frozen coil by turning on the heater and waiting for it to thaw. That cost $108.65. I called the company to protest the charge and approach, they insisted it was legitimate. They also indicated that the entire cost of the service call would be deducted from the cost of the installation of a new system. I asked other service providers how they would handle such a situation and the responses I got were that they would turn off the AC and reschedule the service call for a later time.

It's a regular maintenance service, and my heating and cooling have been working good. They are very pleasant, and I am happy with them.

They serviced our heating unit and fixed an issue we were having. The cost was more than other service providers charge.
Response from AA-Air Co
"I am sorry you did not receive our energy report. The report is emailed shortly after the audit is completed. If I had known sooner that you had not received a copy I would have sent again. After this length of time I am not sure we still have the report but I will check through our archives."

AA-Air Co. Quoted replacement of HVAC system for an insurance claim. Between the release of the money from the insurance claim (only paid for the outside condenser) and installation date, they raised the price and I paid the extra money out of my pocket because they would not honor the insurance quote. The system was installed in the fall of 2011. It needed to have refrigerant added to system in 2012, 2013, and just this week in 2014. In 2013, no leak was found, and just today they diagnosed a leak on the inside coil. So after paying them twice for refrigerant leak, and HEP once when my x-wife called while I was away. I am out a lot money and still have an HVAC system that does not work properly. You could see the bubbles coming out when you sprayed it with soapy water. So I am the out the $331 dollars today, the $270+ dollars last year, plus a 1 year service contract that I paid for all to fix a system that has been leaking since the install in the beginning. They quoted $914 to fix the inside coil (all labor) as the part is under warranty. Since installing the system I am out over $700 in charges for an HVAC system that has been troublesome since the installation. Now they want $914 to fix the inside coil, that if it is leaking is probably because it froze over from having a leak elsewhere in the system. I called another company. After waiting for 20 minutes for them to show up, I just had the other company take care of the problem. They found a leak at a partially solder joint and fixed it for $118. Looking at the solder joint it obviously did not have solder all the way around the joint. I hope this was problem, but I am not sure.

Very well. Great job, very informative, took their time to answer all of my questions and provided good suggestions for fixes. It has indeed resulted in a noticeable reduction in my utility bills...it has already paid for itself!

This was one of the best experiences EVER. First, Donna herself came out. My little 1930's bungalow was not prepared to face its first winter with me in it (more like the other way around). The heating and air had a KUB red tag -- not good! Carbon dioxide from broken heat exchanger and air just didn't work -- awful looking piece of metal! Since the sale of the house was not final and was a short sale, it was a long while until I could install the new system, but Donna was patient and very helpful by telling me about a TVA/KUB low rate financing plan! WOW! She and the crew have become family as far as I am concerned. She handles a QUALITY product and delivers excellent SERVICE. I would feel comfortable recommending her business to anyone I care about -- and it is with great honor AND appreciation that I write this review!

I used an Angie's List Big Deal coupon for this job. They came out and hooked a big fan over our door to try to figure out what kind of air leaks and cold spots we had in the house. They did a very good job and I feel like they went above and beyond the price of this project; we got our money's worth. They went around with a thermal imaging camera in different parts of the house to determine what the temperature difference was. They also hooked up some meters to our return vents to see if there were any air gaps in it. They were really good and professional. It was definitely worth the money.

I first called and explained what was going on. That afternoon a technician was at my house. Repaired the problem and recommended that we go on a maintenance program. I agreed. They cleaned the unit and the coils on the unit outside and they will contact us in the winter months for another service call for winter.

Highly recommend them

We had a great experience with AA Air. Woke up on Saturday morning to no A/C. AA was prompt to set up a Saturday appt with no extra weekend fees. John, the serviceman, was courteous, professional and prompt. He gave us options for repair and was not pushy. We will definitely use them again if a need arises.

Got estimates for new unit in 08/11 from Alan. He stated that they were not going to be the cheapest and in reality for the model we purchased and the duct sealing they were less than a few competitors. We did not have the unit installed until January and I was in contact with Alan several times before the unit was installed. He was always prompt to return my calls. In fact I was in contact so much the receptionist would say oh hi Mrs. Reisner how are you? So friendly! We had the TVA energy audit done and after honest feedback from Alan which confirmed that our best bang for our buck would be sealing the attic and having more insulation blown in we had that scheduled also. They did have to reschedule that job because of equipment issues and rain that set them behind. But for both jobs they worked around my husband's schedule (he works overnight and sleeps during the day). The installers for both jobs were very courteous, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. After the attic was completed Alan came out and signed our TVA paperwork for the rebate, and one of their reps met with the TVA guy when they came to do the inspection after the work was done. I highly recommend them and will use them for any further issues we have or work we need done.

Had 3 bids for the work, with AA Air providing the middle price. The low-cost bidder installed a similar system for a near by resident, and a second installation team was needed to correct installation problems from the first effort. The high-cost bidder offered the same equipment, but did not leave us with an impression that they fully understood their products. Donna Kimble provided an excellent explanation for the basis of the bid, and provided a thorough explanation of the equipment options available. The installation crew arrived on time and put in several long days to ensure we had a least one system available at all times. We had an outdoor "package" unit (gas heat and electric AC) replaced with a split system - installation of the high efficiency gas furnace in our foundation room was done very professionally - neat and secure routing of electrical wiring, condensate piping, and combustion air piping. At the conclusion of the installation, they conducted a blower door test to evaluate overall duct leakage - the duct sealing was very effective. Impact on heat cost over the winter were somewhat difficult to gauge due to rate hikes and fuel adjustment charges, but we estimate close to 25% reduction. The impacts on cooling costs were more dramatic, approaching 50% despite a very hot summer. Overall, a good investment in our home.

They did the job excellently. They were very friendly and through. The company representative was the daughter of the owner and she told us lots of things that we did not know before regarding the job. She also gave us several options that we could go along with. Their prices were reasonable considering the amount of work that they did for us. I would use their services in the future also.

This company is great to work with. Easy to schedule and very puctual. They installed our system right after we moved into this house (in August 2007) so we have used them for service. Good job on replacing our H/AC system. I have called them only twice for basic maintenance since. I was referred to them originally by father in law who used to be a TVA home energy inspector and knew many contractors. He said this company was ethical and did good work.
