Being new to the area we had no idea how to find a good general contractor to manage this project. Finding names on the internet and Yellow Pages, we blindly contacted 10 contractors, and five responded. Three provided estimates, and each one was relatively close to the other estimates. We selected Mr. Woods because he showed up on time, or early, for each appointment, while the others would show up late, if at all, and without a phone call. His estimate was clear with project phases broken out in a logical format, while other contractors' estimates did not address all we requested and were vague overall. During the project there was never a time when he couldn't be contacted by phone if necessary. He was responsive to all questions, and every commitment/ promise was kept. All sub-contractors he hired were excellent. Scheduling was efficient, and there were no "down" days with the exception of weekends and holidays. His project management skills made the difference between a smooth-running operation and what easily could have been a nightmare. The new space is beautiful.
