I'm leaving this review up here because Rick doesnt pay his laborers on schedule as promised. Twice I've worked for Rick and during those 2 employment periods I've had to go multiple weeks without a paycheck. The first time the bill was $2,840 that meant I didn't get paid for over a month. Two weeks during working for him and 2 weeks after quitting. I was lead to believe he was somebody who would never not pay his workers, under the impression of being "friends" I tried working with him again. This time I have been left with an outstanding bill of $1,650 since the 3rd week of December. As to which he has ghosted me since super bowl Sunday because I finally realized this guy does not care if he leaves you without while promising he would not do this. Adding insult to injury he has failed to provide me with my 2024 1099 documentation. At this stage, I am still unaware how he intends to resolve this matter. I'm attaching the conversation from the last time I spoke to him regarding having to change plans to go out of town and work because quite frankly I didn't trust he'd make me a priority and pay me. I expect that if he reads this his ego will push him to respond trying to make me look like the bad guy. As you can see he did in the text when I mentioned filing a complaint with the labor board he tried to threaten me by saying he'd have to let then know the job wasn't completed, however, why would I complete the job if I was paid hourly and not by contract even then, without payment nobody continues work.

The complaints we had were very late start times, 11am -12pm and very late stopping times 7:30-8:30 or later where they had no daylight to see their painting errors. The stairs were painted at night and have paint drips across the whole stair risers. The 1/2 bath trim and master bath ceiling were never completed. Some rooms were painted adequately so we can’t say they did an awful job. Rick Keen wanted to be paid before the bulk of the work was done, we paid thinking they would finish the job and after multiple texts and phone calls they will not complete the job which we paid in full. They searched through our basement for painting supplies they didn’t have, used them and didn’t replace them, i.e. mini roller brushes and sparkling tools. They destroyed our step ladder that is covered in sparkling mud. Every room has some imperfection that Rick Keen said they would come back and touch up, which they haven’t done, maybe if they didn’t paint at night and started earlier in the day they would have seen these imperfections. We would not recommend Xtreme Painting to anyone because they are not reliable. This job took 4 weeks longer than it should have and it is still not finished.
