Ashley Furniture

My husband and I purchased a new suite of living room furniture. We were concerned about delivery as my husband was recovering from shoulder surgery and we are both older. The saleswoman, (April Adams) assured us that the delivery people would move our old furniture out (to a trailer we had ready for it in our driveway) when they brought the new furniture. The store's computers were not working so we have to wait for our invoice to be mailed to us several days later. In BIG GREEN LETTERS it said that they would not move our old furniture and we must have the room cleared for them. We called the store and were told that was the policy. We asked to have the saleswoman call us back or the store manager call us. No one called. We ended up hiring two men to come take our old furniture out of the house on the day of delivery. Additionally, there was a display in the store with a fake spilled glass of wine on a sofa. As we have small grandchildren this caught our attention. Again, this same saleswoman assured us that "all of Ashley's furniture is scotchguarded". Guess what?! This is a lie. None of their furniture is treated for stain resistance. This was supposedly a display for something called "oops" insurance. The store manager, Eric Hall, after several phone calls from us agreed to at least send us a refund of the $70.00 delivery fee. We have yet to see that check and probably never will. There was a tear in the sofa but their technician came to the house and reupholstered the sofa. This was the only good experience we have with this company.
