To begin with, getting tree cutters to show up on time, return your calls, give you an estimate, do what they say they are going to do, etc., is too much of a challenge. I have scarcely seen a more poorly run industry. A-1 actually returns your calls, shows up, and does what they say the will do. That automatically puts them in a class of their own. Getting this work done is expensive, but given the state regulations and the cost of workers comp and other insurance, it really is not surprising. I received estimates from a a few companies on this job. A-1's pricing was in line with another large tree service and both were substantially more expensive (50%) than the guys who show up at your house unannounced and want to give you a "free" estimate to cut the dead trees in your yard. I've been ripped off by the drive-by guys in the past, so I recommend using a legitimate service like A-1.
