Mr. Pugh had trouble reading the house numbers on the mailboxes, we had to talk him into the driveway… I knew this was not going to be a good visit. Our ice maker and water in the door had quit working. He pulled the fridge out from the wall and said the back should not be warm to the touch…! He pulled a cover off from the PCB. There was a green light on the board, he said this meant ‘big trouble’… but couldn’t say what the trouble was. He would not even look at the ice/water issue, saying the fridge was on its last leg. We paid him $80 for NOTHING! Don’t waste your time and money on this imposter.

Mr Pugh arrived on time, even early. He came in looked at refrigerator telling me he wouldn't have this fridge. He finally got to removing the part (which he broke in the process-he didn't think I noticed) however, the part was not completely removed just left kinda hanging in the fridge. He did help me to get the fridge pulled out to where the water could be turned off. I fortunately had already done some research, based on the previous experience. He proceeded to tell me that it would be expensive to replace the parts inside of the filter and anything could be wrong. He then said it would be a $500-600 dollar part. Having already looked, I knew it was available for about 140.00 online....and said so. He then told me to order it myself and I owed him 80.00 ( charges for house calls had not been discussed). A ridiculous amount for my refrigerator still being nonoperational. He kept wanting me to reroute the water lines and water filter. (which no was way I going to do). As he was leaving he stated that if I wanted he could come back and install the part- however, he would have to charge me another $80.00!! I was already being ripped off, and no thank you, I won't be again. I ordered the part, installed it MYSELF, and my refrigerator is running perfect. I wasted my time and money trying to give local people my business. A perfect example how women are taken advantage of when their husbands are overseas.

I called about 8 AM. Mr. Pugh was there about 10 minutes later. My dishwasher water wasn't coming on and he found the float was stuck, preventing the water from running--easy fix. Only charged me $20. If I had called anyone else, I would have been charged a much larger flat fee for just coming to my house. He is very professional and pleasant. I will certainly call him again when I need work on appliances!!

Perfectly. Mr. Pugh was very flexible and accommodating to meet my schedule. Did a very fast and accurate diagnosis on my refrigerator and repaired it. No replacement parts were required and my refrigerator now works perfectly.

Mr. Pugh and his lovely daughter came to my house on time and on the day promised. I explained that the refrigerator was making a loud fan noise and it was running most of the time. After examining the situation it was determined that the coils were filled with dust and the refrigerator could not cool sufficiently.  The coil system was impossible to reach because the refrigerator was built into the wall, but with great problem solving skills they were both able to figure out how to reach the coils and clean them. They were very professional and courteous, and I will definitely use them again for all of my appliances.

Mr. Pugh and his helper arrived approximately one hour after I contacted him, fixed the problem, provided education to my husband and myself about ways to prevent the problem in the future and was finished in less than one hour!  He is very professional and very knowledgable.

He showed up promptly (on the same day that I called him) and he fixed the ice maker in my Kenmore fridge, even though it was a bit more complicated than it initially appeared to be. He did it for a very reasonable price and I would highly recommend him to others.

After Mr. Pugh checked for all other possible causes, he made a quick trip to town to purchase the necessary parts, then returned to install them so that we had a working dryer.  The whole thing was completed within a couple of hours.  He arrived early, due to a cancelled call, but offered to come back later if the time was not convenient (which it most certainly was).  His promptness in responding, his expertise in diagnosing the problem, and his commitment to completing the job promptly and with minimum additional cost (we had to purchase the replacement part, but at his cost) made this service call very much appreciated by us.  He also offered suggestions about other matters related to other appliances while here, which have probably saved or will save us money in the future.

Mr Pugh apparently it does not check his email from Angie's List, because after waiting several days, I never heard back from him. So I finally called him, and thankfully he was able to come rather quickly after we first made contact. For that availability, I give him high marks. From there, however, it is all downhill. My problem was a non working ice maker. I could see that the spout that pours into the ice molds was frozen over, but I did not know why. He asked if I had a hair dryer, which I do not, and suggested that all that was needed was to melt the ice. Despite not having a hair dryer and his tool kit, he managed to get the spout deiced and working again. However, his only suggestion for preventing the same issue in the future, was to turn the ice maker off. I worked in IT for many years. This is akin to telling someone that the only way to keep their computer from acting up, is to not use it. He also told me that I had over paid, since I bought the $74 special from Angie's List, but did not offer to refund me the difference. In reading through the included services on that special, it was supposed to include up to to repair trips to fix the issue. However, when I called him back for an issue which turned out to be related to the same root problem about a week or so later, he charged me for anotherfull visit fee. Specifically, the second time, the refrigerator had stopped cooling. This turned out to be due to ice buildup from the same leak that was causing the ice maker spout to freeze over. He once again fix the immediate issue, which was that the fan had come out of place due to the ice and was no longer circulating air, but despite my repeated requests while he was here to look for the root cause of the problem, he completely blew me off. I did eventually figure out the root cause myself through some clever googling. However, given that he is supposedly a professional, it should have been a much easier task for him to troubleshoot and find the problem of a leaky inlet valve. For whatever reason, my suspicion is sheer laziness, he did not want to do this. And for that I give him very low marks as an appliance repairman.

Mr. Pugh arrived right on time.  He inspected the freezer and determined that the drain was stopped up.  He unfroze the drain which was caked with ice and the freezer is working beautifully.  He was very professional and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an appliance repair.  He is very honest and will tell you if the repair would be worthwhile or if the appliance should be replaced.  If I should need an appliance repair in the future, I will definitely call him.

He came out when scheduled and did a good job. We have to get the water hooked up though and that was not his fault. He was very nice and professional.
