At first everything was very good with Newman. The gentleman that came and gave us a quote for a replacement HVAC unit was professional and nice. After talking with the office, I decided to upgrade to an air handler unit that uses a vairable speed blower. I accepted the quote that was sent to me via text. Fast forward a bit to the first install date of December, 19 2022. They installed the unit when I was at work, but my wife was home for the day. I was excited to see the new unit when I got home. As I was going throught the owners booklets and registereing them through the manufactuer, I noticed that one of the model numbers did not match my quote. They installed the wrong air handler, a cheaper non variable speed one. I contacted Newman and barely got an apology. They asked if I wanted to keep this one until the proper one would arrive. Of course I need heat, this was just a few days before we have the negative wind chill temperatures for a couple days in a row. Did they think I would go without heat in the winter? A month passes, on January, 18 2023 I have literally heard nothing from them. Made me feel like they did this on purpose in order to try and make money on an unexpecting customer. I called and no-one answered, so I left a voicemail. By the same time the next day I still did not hear back so I try to call again with no answer. I decided to text them and finally got a response. They finally got the proper unit in on about Feburary, 8 2023. A lady called to set an appointment, at which I had some questions about the date and the thermostat. She said she would return my call but did not. We scheduled and install date on a day I was off work this time. The installers were nice, but did not do a great job. The air handler is not very level and there were air gaps in the duct that I had to go back over myself and fix after they left. I also noticed that the casing on the outide unit is also damaged. It appears to be just cosmetic, but I expect a brand new product to look new and not mishandled. After all of this, I may have gotten one single sorry. They had no follow-up, no empathy, and even tried to make me feel bad by saying the price of the correct air handler had gone up and they were not going to make much on it now. I had a couple other small issues through the process as well. I would not recommend them to a friend or family member.

I took a chance because some of the other reviews weren’t that great with this company but they were close by and we were kinda desperate. I first called on Saturday which a person answered (I called about 6 others and only spoke to 1 other person). They were going to come the next day on Sunday but i called back and said to come on Monday. Jesse (tech) arrived promptly and professionally. He thourghly checked the system and found the defrost sensor/board was bad. I worked with Megan (office CSR) and she was able to get the part covered by warranty, which I didn’t even think about! Part was ordered which came in one day. The next day Jesse was here putting it in. In the process he found that my system wasn’t wired correctly which he fixed. Honestly i cant say enough of how much i appreciate the professional service from Newmans. I would gladly deal again. Thanks!

I called shortly after lunch on the Friday before Labor Day with temperatures approaching 90 degrees. The person answering the phone promised me that there would be a technician available as soon as possible, probably within a couple hours. Within an hour, the technician called me, advised that he was leaving another service call, and was on his way.Within a few minutes of his arrival, my problem was diagnosed. The technician had the necessary part in his van, and my heat pump was repaired within 30 minutes! Before he left, the technician showed me how the problem might have been caused, and how to prevent a similar occurrence.

Our heater wasn't working, and they came to fix it. It took forever to fix it because it took them over a week to come out and the Newman tech had to order a part out of Knoxville. Meanwhile, we had to use ceramic heaters all over the house. This was the second time he had to replace that part.
The heater broke down another time, not long after that, during a really cold snap. We didn't want to wait for Newman to finally arrive, so we called a different company and paid out of pocket. The new company said that they put a trip switch on the heater so it wouldn't overload. The tech showed my hubby how to turn the heater back on.
When our thermostat broke not long after that, the buyer protection plan called Newman. When he arrived, I told him about the trip switch, and you should have seen the look of dissappointment on the Newman tech's face. I interpreted that look to mean that and quot;I lost my cash cow, darn!and quot;
We don't use Newman anymore!

"This was through a buyer protection plan that was a 3rd party. It took over a week to get an answer if we were allowed to fix there problem. After this call we complete broke ties with the Protection Plan company. Our service is second to none and we are truly sorry for this lady's problem. We had no say so in what we could do."
