Terry was excellent! He understood we had an emergency, and came within 30 minutes. After determining the issue, we could not find the parts needed for the fix. Instead of wait for me to order a part, Terry found another solution that worked and now we have A/C again! Terry was extremely professional, polite, knew exactly what he was doing and made sure I understood each step he was taking. Highly recommend and will do work with him again!

Terry Hartley came and spent days disconnecting circuits throughout our house including circuits that had nothing to do with renovations that he was hired for. He routinely brought his girlfriend who did nothing yet he charged a higher rate when she was present. He continuously asked the same questions which did seem a bit odd and took longer than necessary to complete anything. Some days we weren't even sure what he had done while "working". He did not show up when he said he would and would say, "I'm just covered up." He stopped showing up to work when he said he would and finally one evening he called my phone while intoxicated and left an inappropriate voicemail. We fired him immediately. We paid him a LOT money for the "work" he said he did. He refused to come back at all to explain to our general contractor what all had been done so we could get someone else to finish the job. It has been 6 months since we fired him and are still paying to fix all the electrical he screwed up. We now are dealing with electrical outlets and light switches that once worked now no longer working in our home. I have NEVER dealt with this type of unprofessionalism in my life. Do not hire him under any circumstances.

OVERALL, I WAS WILLING TO WORK OUT SOMETHING . LETS GET TOGETHER AND DISCUSS THE CONCERNS THAT I HAVE. BUT, WHEN TERRY THE OWNER CAME OVER HE WAS IRRATE NOT PROFESSIONAL NOT WILLING TO COMMUNICATE AND STORMED OFF I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE WAS LEAVING UNTIL I LOOKED TO SEE WHERE HE WENT. HE GAVE ME SOME KIND OF GESTURE WITH HIS HAND AND DROVE OFF. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENT HIM TO ANYONE

I had two switches with problems. After thoroughly checking the one in the ceiling fan, it was determined that my new switch was bad. I acquired a new switch and the problem was quickly solved. On the other switch, they corrected some problems created by a previous electrician.

I spent about $45. Sometimes it costs $60 just to have a service person come out to check the air conditioner or something like that. His coming out to fix the doorbell for $45 was a good deal. He was here when he said he was going to be here. He was very professional and good. I talked to him about putting power to my deck. He was interested in doing that if I chose to do that in the future. He also checked out one of the ceiling lights in the kitchen that are inset. I was having problems with one. He did not consider my request to fix the doorbell beneath him. I called another electric company from the phone book and they were not willing to come. When I called Appalachian Electric, he was willing to do the project. If I decide to have power in the deck, I will probably call him.

I explained to Mr. Hartley that a "pot light" in my laundry room had "sizzled" and after replacing the light bulb I still did not have any electricity in that room. I had checked the circuit breaker and it was fine. We set an appointment for the next morning. Mr. Hartley determined the fixture was bad and gave me options about replacements. Since I had not been pleased weith the amount of light in the room, he recommended a different type and gave me the information needed to go shopping for a fixture. I also told him my outside floodlight was not working and after checking he determined the seal had failed and the fixture was full of water. I purchased the new fixtures and Mr. Hartley returned the next day and installed them both. He ws very professional and I felt his price was reasonable. I would definately use his services again should the need arise.

Great. They were timely, courteous, and got the job done for the amount they had quoted me.

Appalachian Electric was very courteous and professional. The electrician arrived a tiny bit late, but he called and explained. If we ever need any electrical work, they will be our first call.
