ABS came out to my house and measured my house to make tresses for the roof. Marvin Kegler took measurements and he went back to his office and came up with a computer drawing and notified me that this is what I needed. He ordered them and when they came they were not made according to the drawing he specifically said they would turn out to be. They will not work for my roof. Jerry Howard is the VP of the company said that I cut off the trusses too short. The problem is that they were made wrong. They set 12-16 inches above the peak of the roof. They were supposed to tie in below the peak. I talked to Jerry June 24 and he was supposed to call me back Monday June 27 and he never called me back. On Friday July 1 I called him and left him a message and if he didn't call me by the end of the day I would notify my attorney. For three months now they have held me up on my project. They are not even trying to work with me and I have made multiple attempts to contact them. They are not wanting to accept any responsibility. All that I am getting from them is that they will call me back and they never call me back.

Response from Automated Building Systems
Please find the attached paperwork Automated Building Systems supplied to the member. As you can see, the member’s signature is on these drawings, which show he knew all dimensions before we even started production. This is standard protocol for ABS so that the customer knows all dimensions before they are put into production. The trusses were delivered on time and to the exact specifications of the the member, any changes made by the member after the delivery releases ABS of any liability. Due to the customers verbally abusive manner to my employees and myself we were unable to further communicate with him on this matter. As you can also see, the member signed off on the bill of lading, if these trusses were not to his specifications he could have refused them at time of delivery. The member did not have a problem with the trusses until he improperly cut them. We appreciate you contacting us in regards to this matter but I promise you if this was an error on the part of ABS we would have had this matter handled accordingly when it first presented itself. To avoid any further legal action on the part of Automated Building Systems I advise that my company’s name not appear anywhere on the Angie’s List web site or any Angie’s List publication without proper consent by the president of ABS.
