Description of Work: Had Artisan bump out a portion of our existing kitchen to gain more room. The addition was 10' X 12' and was built on top of an existing deck. Also a lower deck portion was to be added to make up for the loss of space. An estimate of 4 - 6 weeks was given and we signed for the work on June 29, 2007. Construction was supposed to start the 1st week of August 2007, but was put off until the third week. When the project was started we thought all was well until the second week. It was at this point they had a subcontractor put up the new walls and they were 2' too low. Another Sub contractor had to come back and extend the height. The rafter installer came next (after 1 week of waiting) and did a lousy job, he disappeared and a new crew came, ripped out the old rafters and did the job right. This is now week 4 of a 4 - 6 week job. The final payment was made upon completion of the job on October 25, 2007. A period of 8 weeks. I did the electrical work, flooring and painting myself, as we wanted the job done before Christmas. All in all they did good work when the right workers showed up. Would have liked to have had better communication when people did not show up. This was a major hassle with the job, people did not show up on a consistent basis and we had to call Artisan to find out where the workers were. I forgot to mention that one of their sub contractors broke a bedroom window and Artisan tried to infer that it was broken before they started the job. I had pictures of that side of the house on the morning before they started doing the insulation that shows the window intact. The subsequent picture (next day) shows the window broken. They fixed the window when shown the pictures.
