It's a year after my kitchen was finished and I would do everything exactly the same. Jim Hearn does excellent work, thorough, attention to details. He delivered a brand new kitchen on schedule even while dealing with weather issues and additional scope due to unknown issues when the deconstruction was performed. I liked all the subcontractors Jim brought in to do the work. And the retailers that he recommended for building cabinets, granite design, and flooring were all great. The price was higher than I wanted but all within the budget Jim told me it would take to do the job right. I have no regrets and love my new kitchen. I highly recommend Jim Hearn construction and plan on using him again for a bathroom remodel.

I am in the insurance adjusting business and deal with contractors on a daily basis. Jim and his team are top notch. Jim was always professional and always on time. He had great ideas and was always able to work with any request we had. His attention to detail is amazing. On a daily basis he would walk me around the work site and show me what had been done. He made sure I was happy and he was always open to my suggestions. We could not be happier with the outcome. Not only does he do amazing work he is a great guy. He is honest and straightforward. He would take time to talk to my family and my 2 year old son loved him (he still talks about Big Jim to this day). If you are looking for contractor look no further. Jim, Jerry, and Lee are amazing!

I cannot say enough about Jim Hearn and the professionals he used to complete our project. He helped design our new bathroom and oversaw every aspect from the tear out of the tub and old ceramic floor to glass door installation of our huge walk in shower. . I am so thrilled with the price, the materials used, the new modern look to the bathroom (even though we have a log home). I know it isn't easy to remodel a log home, but Jim always had a and quot;can doand quot; attitude and ideas to make my wish list come true. The crew was professional, punctual, and always conscious of keeping the dust and clutter to a minimum. I liked their work so much, that we had them do some other projects for us, such as replacing a front door. If ever you need home improvements of any kind, , I recommend you call Jim. You will not be disappointed.

This bath remodel was a complete tear out down to the studs and rebuild. Jim was a pleasure to work with and completely professional and straight forward. The design goals were to have a larger shower and separate tub more counter space and storage. Jim used the irregular shape of the room to great advantage with a custom shower pan and surround. The bath room is elegant, clean and I love it.

Terrific experience! Upgrade was transformative, opening the kitchen to the great room, and establishing a great environment for entertaining. I had so much confidence in the partners that I left for Florida before construction started and didn't return home until all work was done! Along the way, I received periodic updates, both pics and telephone calls. Work is off the highest quality, they take care of all details as if it was their own property and responsiveness is off the charts!

"In early 2010 the [member name removed] family contacted my company about saving a 7000+SF house they wanted to purchase. The house was in such poor condition that a Certificate of Occupancy had NEVER been issued nor had the electric or gas ever passed inspection to be connected. We brought our subcontractors and a structural engineer and the county building inspector to preview the work and then agreed to do the work at a cost plus 10% rate. We provided an ESTIMATE of the project cost based on what we could see at the time. We did not estimate finishing the basement. We started work in early January 2010 and worked almost continuously on the project until August 2010. The scope and nature of the job had continuously changed as we uncovered more problems in the structure and the wiring. The [member name removed] were kept continuously informed. We were inspected at least 6 times by the county building and electrical inspectors as well as by the inspector from the [member name removed]'s bank. We passed them all with compliments on the work. We did all that the [member name removed] asked us to do including adding on the basement finishing in time for a birthday party. Mrs [member name removed] always like the work. The county building inspector issued a temporary Certificate of Occupancy and the family moved into their home. We took a mutually agreed upon break to catch up on some small jobs that we had put off to finish the basement. At this point I gave the [member name removed] an invoice for the work completed. They stopped speaking to me, would not pay my invoices and would not meet with me. They would email only. I made provisions to pay all of my subcontractors so they would not get stuck and made continual efforts to meet with the [member name removed]. My company warranties all of it's work for at least a year and usually longer. During the year following I did not receive one complaint or notification of a problem. After a couple of years of frustration, I contacted my attorney to resolve the matter. This is the only time in my 25+ years of working for people that I needed an attorney. I agreed to arbitration and they walked out midway in the process. We ended up in court. Please feel free to review the above annotated case. The court found in my favor and issued a judgment against the [member name removed] and I was able to recover a large part of my loss. We have worked for 200+ families and individuals over the years long before Angie's list reviewed us and I would be happy for you to contact virtually any of them for a reference. ."

All of my ideas and my "wish list" were taken into consideration. Jim was good about giving options to achieve the look I wanted while keeping in mind my budget. Although winter into spring can be a messy time of year to do an outside job, they were here whenever the weather allowed. They cleaned up the site when the job was done. Jim even brought in a landscaper to fix some places in the yard that had been worn down by trucks taking materials to the back of the house where the porch was built. I have used Hearn Construction Company for three jobs and have been very pleased with the interaction with everyone and the end result each time. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Jim Hearn remodeled our lake cottage with true professionalism. He installed new floor, ceiling, and drywall, and new bath facilities. He took our 1970's cottage kicking and screaming into the twenty first century. His work was on time, and to the highest standards. He suggested several things to save us some money and suggested better design options. And did all the cleanup. We are extremely pleased and would highly recommend his work to anyone.

Very professional. A man of his word. Always good suggestions to either save money, or do something in a way that is more practical, or to look better, product advise. The professionals he subcontracts to (electricians, sheet rock finishers, etc) are good at what they do. Jim has good suggestions to improve looks or save money or use something of a better quality. I wish I had know about them before I remodeled my master suite and wall in tiled shower. They are punctual, good about cleaning up. Jim gave me an agreed price at the beginning of each phase of the remodel. I would use Jim Hearn again, and would recommend him to a friend.

For me, trying to communicate with a contractor when it comes to electrical, plumbing, and general construction work is about the same as talking to a mechanic about "that noise" in my car. I understand very little of the technical details. I just know how I want things to look when the job is done. Thankfully, Jim Hearn is a good listener, patient, and is detail-oriented. He understood exactly what I wanted and was great about making suggestions. From the first call to set up the initial meeting to being on the job, Jim and his crew were incredibly prompt. He updated me daily on the progress and was always quick to answer or return my calls if I had questions or concerns. Every aspect of the work was spot on and if a problem was found it was remedied. While redirecting the plumbing from the old downstairs laundry room to the new laundry area upstairs, it was found that there had been a leak from a roof vent into the wall downstairs for quite some time resulting in mold inside the wall. When I got the dreaded, "we've found a problem" phone call, Jim was quick to assure me everything could be fixed with the best possible result. He replaced the vent, repaired any damage found, and made sure the mold was no longer an issue. A mishap in the bathroom resulted in a tiny chip on my new tub. Jim promptly called to tell me what had happened and to assure me it would be fixed. He brought in the appropriate professional to do the job and the tub looks perfect. Every extra aspect that could be thought of to make the end results perfect was seen to by Jim from installing a little shelf above my washer and dryer to hold products to putting a flourescent light in the old laundry room (which is to become a closet) to changing the direction of the door opening on my new dryer. One pleasant aspect of this first foray into using a contractor was that, even with fixing the unforeseen problems and doing all the little extra things, the final cost was exactly what I had been quoted before the job began. I definitely hope to use Hearn Construction Company for future home repairs and projects.

We met with Mr. Hearn to discuss our thoughts and ideas about a major remodeling of our recently purchesed townhouse. In addition to our plans, He had many suggestions about additional improvements that did not cost any more but that we both liked better than our own ideas.
