It was so good. The owners name is David McCay. The work was fair, it was good. I have a nephew who used him and it was the same thing.  His crew was very polite. He just did my sisters house about 50 miles from here, and once again did great work.

They were nice. One of their employees stole a jewelry from me. So it was good beside that.
Response from West Tennessee Restoration
"Although it is not material to the review, this was a $20,000 job. Also, this job was started in late 2013 and finished in early 2014. There was a complaint that jewelry was stolen and a police report was filed. The police investigated, but did not charge anyone in this theft. We cooperated fully with the police investigation. As a show of good faith, we discounted the job by $1000."

They were professional and nice. I could not get to Jackson to have them sign the check and they drove to McKenzie (45 miles) and signed the insurance check.

Overall it went well.  With my busy schedule I held up the job at times but also feel Paul Davis could have been more assertive in finishing the job.  But overall feel they did a good job at a fair price.

"This was a review on Paul Davis Restoration, not West Tennessee Restoration."

I asked for an estimate up front and multiple times and recieved a different answer every time. They claimed an estimate would be provided once the house was gutted, then they said it will take us a few days to enter the data into the computer before they could give me an estimate, then they said they would work directly with my insurance adjuster to determine how much they would charge me. Throughout the entire experience I never received any paperwork stating the amount they were going to charge. Long story short this company tried to determine how much my home insurance claim was paying me so they could write their estimate to match. They refused to give me an estimate up front or at any point going forward until they knew how much my adjuster gave me. Very dishonest company and people who work for them. I proceeded to have them bill me for the "work" they have already done and did not allow them to complete the restoration of my home. They were not responsive at all. I had to track them down, follow up, constantly call only to receive the run around every time. It is going on 2 weeks and I have half a house gutted out with no insulation, no estimate, and no one to complete the job. Thank goodness it isnt winter yet! Moral of the story do not use this company, do not let anyone start work in your house without an upfront estimate, do not share what your insurance is paying you with the company doing the work. Greedy, dishonest company.
Response from West Tennessee Restoration
"This was a water damage insurance claim and not a remodeling job and their are vast differences in how they are handled. West Tennessee Restoration works with all insurance carriers and are preferred contractors with State Farm, Farm Bureau, State Auto, and Liberty Mutual. The main difference in these jobs is it is impossible to determine how far the damage goes until the demolition is complete. Insurance companies know this and their primary concern is limiting the damage and response time is critical. For these reasons, they do not request an estimate at this point. Nationwide paid for our demo and drying services in full. In this situation, the company had sent an independent adjuster to write the estimate after the demolition was complete. We use the same estimating software as most carriers (including Nationwide), but there can be some differences in how the data is entered. Because the adjuster was required to write the estimate and Nationwide was going to pay based on that estimate and since we were willing to review their estimate for accuracy and work from it, it was a waste of time for us to write an estimate also. We offered to review the adjuster's estimate for the customer to make sure everything was correct. The other way we bring value to these situations is that often insurance companies pay Actual Cash Value, which is a depreciated amount. Sometimes customers don't read everything they are provided and don't realize that there are more funds (depreciation) available when the job is completed. When the customer would not share the company estimate with us, it appeared that they were trying to profit from their claim. Because of this and the fact that the customer was going to be very difficult, we declined to do the reconstruction. We gave the customer plenty of notice so she could get another contractor and she continued to demand that we give her an estimate even though we were not going to do the job. Nationwide had no issues with how we handled this claim. West Tennessee Restoration is an A+ rated Better Business Bureau company and we have been in business since 1997."
